Back in 2003 my first love was gmax
It is a great piece of software
( by the way it works great in windows 10, it is so good that you don't need to run it in any compatibility mode), It showed me the great world of 3d modeling and although I only finished my first functional model for a game with the Wurzburg-Riese radar this year (using 3ds max 2017), I have great respect for the venerable gmax and for the modders that are still using it.
And to honour this software and the modders here in SAS that use it for their modeling tasks, I decided to do a bit of software necromancy (intense google search) to create awareness of this maybe forgotten script that expands the modeling capabilities of this great software, maybe some of you already know these tools but maybe not, so it worths the effort.
What to do:
1-Download the script, and read the Installation instructions thoroughly (The intructions are for 3dsmax4 but the script works great with gmax 1.2)
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/meshtools2-Install it of course.
3-Go to
Customize User Interface4-Once there, in category choose
MeshTools.
5-Create a New Toolbar and name it Mesh Tools.
6-Drag and drop the icons from the left panel of the
Customize User Interface window to your newly created toolbar.
7-Dock your newly created toolbar to the left side of gmax.
8-Enjoy your new tools and your new workflow cababilities.
Good luck to all!
