OK, found this in load_2.ini:

[ROADS]
Rail     = land/summer/Rail
Road     = land/summer/Road
Highway  = land/summer/sk_road  //Highway

I returned that to normal and the issue is solved.

However, I have a part of the runway of Gibraltar airfield missing, and the airfield also isn't completely flat.

However, I have a part of the runway of Gibraltar airfield missing, and the airfield also isn't completely flat.

The sk_roads were meant to give a dusty brown look to majr roads, instead of the dark modern tarmac coloring you get with 'highway'. But that's a minor point...

There is an update coming for this other airfield thing ... will be posting a new actors and map_h soon ... just want to consolidate everthing first

Hi agracier,

Unfortunately, my graphics card's just died (after only 13 months), so I won't be using IL2 at all untill I can raise the cash for a new one. Before this happened, however, I re-sized all the 3MB textures in photoshop, and now they don't appear at all. It's my cock-up, but I hope I'll have a new card installed in time to add your corrected textures.

Thank you for a lovely Map.   When i tryed to set up an AI flight of Ju52 from Cueta to Malaga rhe FMB froze ,,  HELP

It seems to be to do with that bridge just out of Malaga. All good now!

Thanks for this ... I never would have thought that the type of roads could effect freezes. It's not like I don't use sk_roads on other maps ... but whatever. If it works it works.

And besides this is good to know because I've been thinking about a repopulating of Andalucia. This was an early map and the second version with 1024 textures looks fairly well. But since, Uufflakke has come out with his beautiful Med Houses and they are just perfect for this map ... so maybe it might be time for a newer version in the future.

Its a great map - thanks for the work of the geographically correct , detailed texture.
I have started making a He-111 bomber la guerra civil española campaign -

Don't forget to post a link when it is finished. The setup in the town looks very detailed and it's that kind of thing I'm usually too hurried to make on the occasions when I actually get to fly for fun ...

A note of history of the SCW - Anarchist militias, the P.O.U.M. militias, were active mainly in the north, in Catalonia and Aragon.

This version should be in order for the airfields.

For a next version (providing we start on that) it is very likely that we'll use a different type of airfield build, namely textures with Friction mod and then individual objects. There will probably be no more groundplates.

I doubt if this is a war in which it is possible to completely disentangle ideology from the military history of the conflict.

In English, one the classic histories remains 'The Battle for Spain' by Antony Beevor, originally published in 1982 and greatly updated and enlarged in 2006.
