Hey all, I'm excited about the possibility of playing a SCW campaign in IL-2.  Reading up on the quick SCW pack on Mission4Today it seems I need DBW1.71, which I am considering downloading the huge number of downloads required, but I noticed that it needs to be over an older version of IL-1.

I am current on my IL-2 updates and darn if I want to go through all that trouble to download the huge DBW and then find it doesn't work.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it on IL-2 4.13 I think it is, or if there is an easier way?

Hello ! As you can guess, it would only work if all the mods in the SCW pack were 4.13 compatible. As it is most probably not happening, because campaigns and modpacks are kind of 'state-of-the-art' related and must be upgraded with revised mods for any new version of the game, you may prefer to create an other install of Il-2 on a different folder with an older version to upgrade with DBW 1.71, then you will have two different installs on Il-2 (it works very well indeed)...

By the way, a lot of work have been done to bring SCW to 4.12 too, it can be found in CUP/BAT installs

Clam, as Gatrasz said: this mod pack will only work if you put it on top of DBW 1.71 (which is based on the earlier 4.10 version of the game). Plunking it down on a 4.13 install will just cause you grief. But if the Spanish Civil War is what you want, you cant go wrong with this pack, despite the downloads required [he said, modestly ]. There is no SCW pack for the 4.13 of IL-2, but there are two really good ones for 4.12 (even with perhaps slightly less content) namely BAT The Golden Age and UltraSpain:

Oh shoot, I just installed DBW 1.71 over my 4.13 IL-w, is there anyway to backtrack to the proper version of IL-2?

I would just re-install 4.13 if I was in your shoes  This happens all the time. Most players have multiple versions of IL-2 installed: 4.10 (DBW), 4.12 (VP or HSFZ or BAT/CUP) and stock 4.13. You can have it all!

But DBW 1.71 goes over 4.10 ONLY!
