Strange. Do you have the patches 1 to 14? (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,50919.0.html) If not, perhaps it is what makes the difference.

Oh heck, i thought that download was the first set of files all in one.

So i need 1-14 as well then buddy ?

Do i need the paint skins download below that as well ?

If the answer is yes to both, i apologise for wasting your time.

That is probably just the way your pc shows the files.

If you switch your Windows Explorer view to details it will probably show the 16 files in a line, top to bottom.

All you really need to worry about is that you have the 16 mod files in the same folder (name of folder does not matter).

This is what mine looks like buddy.

Right click the .001 file at the top of list (in my case i double click) and choose to open with either WinRAR or 7zip.

Whichever unzipping software you have installed.

Select all the files in either the WinRAR or 7zip window and extract to your main IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 install folder.

When asked if you want to process all the files in all the archives, choose yes.

After you have done that you then need to download and install the all in one VP Mod patch

https://ulozto.net/!NqlDAt1s8bHb/vp-modpack-patch-7z

And the skin pack

https://ulozto.net/xhjNTjJA/vp-modpack-paintschemes-7z

Install both of those (patch first) into your main IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 install folder.

Overwrite any files that you are asked about.

Cheers,
Mike.

Gentlemen,

I'm thinking we want to ensure your clean Il-2 game is working.  Start your clean game and do everything you want to do once you have VP Mod installed.  Example: open your "Quick Mission Builder." Does it take you to the set-up menu?  Can you begin the mission?

Once you are happy that everything works in your clean Il-2 game, then install VP Modpack on top of it. I do not know of any problems of VP Mod breaking anything so what works in your clean game should work again after installing VP Mod.

Let's first get your base VP Mod running before considering the expansion.  The expansions add contents such as maps to the game, but if your game is not working before adding the patches, then it unlikely to work after the patches are installed.

Aerobatix - what you describe sounds like how your computer is displaying the files, not a problem with the file themselves.  Open file explorer to the folder with your VP Modpack files.  Using file explorer menu at the top, click on "View"  Under "Layout" click on "Detail." It sounds to me that you are viewing your files as "Icons" which displays your files in rows.  "Detail" layout displays your files in a column as shown on the examples within the forum thread.  Detail view also provides information about the file such as its size. The blank white boxes is telling you that Windows has not associated them to a program on your computer.  If you double-click on any of the files, a windows menu pops up and asks you what program you would like to open it with.  That is why you right-click on the first file.  Right clicking opens a windows menu that displays a whole list of options you can do with the file such as "open with"  and in our case "7-zip."

I understand the frustration, i have 4.12 version of IL2 1946 from Steam, I downloaded all 16 parts of the VP Modpack, extracted them into a clean 4.12 IL2 46', I see now i have ver 3.1.1 of the 5.30 Modact for 4.12, try to start game from the Selector.exe and  the IL2FB.exe, nothing happens when I click either of those in the VP Modpack folder I now have in my IL2 46' installation, ok whats the problem guys ??.
