I-15bis spats activation
« on: February 22, 2017, 07:25:15 PM »

Hi All,

I tried to revive this topic in 3Dfix, but it's pretty old. Can someone walk me through how to activate spats for the I-15bis?

I just don't understand the explanation given here:  https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1367.0.html

many thanks,
Herb

Hello!
1. Look for  "customization.ini" file inside of PaintSchemes\Skins\I-15bis folder.Keep it open.
2. Clear skin cache at PaintSchemes\Cache.
3. Start the game, fly the I-15 bis in a Quick Mission with the skin that you like.
4. While you are inflight press alt-tab back to Windows.
5. In PaintSchemes\Cache there must be a new folder named with numbers (i.e. : -2776392019981044784). This is the checksum.
6. Copy and paste this under the tag [WheelSpats] in "customization.ini" file. I.e.:

  [WheelSpats]
-1939074312722165645
-2776392019981044784

7. That´s all. Every time that you fly with the choosen skin you will see the wheelspats in the plane.

There are other planes that you can customize:
I-153M62
I-153M63
I-16type6
I-16type6_Skis
I-16type29
I-16type28
I-16type24
Hs-129B-2
DXXI_SARJA3_LATE
DXXI_SARJA3_EARLY
C.C.C.

Check "Readme4131" from patch 4.13_1 to see tags description.

Outstanding! Thank you Franju, it's working like a champ! As well as for the other aircraft you noted!

Now I'm wondering, would it be possible to fly the CR.42, Hs-123, and late model Ju-87 with and without their spats the same way? Or am I jumping to conclusions? I really like the option to choose those different options...

Cheers all the same,
Herb

Glad you have it working ;)
As far as I know there are only certain planes in which you can customize some characteristics. In the list that I wrote are those in which I found the file "customization.ini". It's something that comes with the original game and the later patches.
For modded game you can check https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46403.0.html
Un saludo

Makes no sense, as you build such feature early in 3-D, for Modders it's easier to
build a second Slot. Although this makes sense, from historical point of view
and Player selection not over complicated, nor limited.

I would rather see a mixed Slot enabling into our Flight selections, than more of these
I spend my days activitating such stuff.
I never fiddled with these Options, too cumbersome. But, flavour is different, everybody to his liking.
