Metallic F-104
« on: February 24, 2017, 11:52:35 AM »

I offer a lovely cup of coffee, and a donut if you wish, for a shiny reflective metallic F-104 skin. HD if possible. (Like the F-104 in the original Star Trek series.)

Any markings you wish, or none at all. Just pure metal.

Thanks.

1. AFAIK, we do not have an F-104...

2. IL2 game engine just does not "do" shiny metal...

I have an F-104 in my IL2 BAT Expansion Pack 6 installation.

Or I'm suffering from a prolonged hallucination.

Could be the music...  8)

Its original publishing topic might be here.

you are .. sadly..   ;)

What you have is a "stretched" or "Franken"  version of my original L-159 ... masquerading as the 104

Because of the nature of the conversion, "Franken" models do not skin well, or evenly.

Well it's very nice to fly and I thank you for it.  :)

If you ever flew the Captain Sim F-104 for MSFS2004, you'd see exactly what I lust for and dream of in IL2.

I know exactly what you mean, but IL2 simply does not do the metallic reflections you desire. The game engine is old and has definite limitations.

There is a way to create a faux metal look, some of the F-86 skins have it, but it would be difficult to achieve on a Franken.
