Hi all, I've been trying to install my old version of the game a modded 4.09m version that is that loads and works perfectly on my old sony vaio with windows 7. in that pc i have installed in C: a vanilla version of the game and the modded game. everything works great. Now in my new pc an hp i5 with gforce but with windows 10 although i tried to install both in the same way the selector fails to load at all.
Really I can't see the reason for this.
Mind you that on the vaio I can even manage to run another copy of the modded game that is installed in a externaal harddrive.
Can someone give me a hint?   obviously the reason that makes me want to move to a newer pc is becouse the old one struggles a bit now....

I installed a copy of my game 4.09/UP2.01 (with Selector) on a laptop with Windows 10!
After setting in the "conf.ini" the new resolution of the screen everything works correctly!
I copied the game in C:\Games ... of course !
I think you made a mistake or forgot a setting!

Yes Epervier my friend i reckon the problem lays on the screen resolution, the problem is i don't have a clue to what resolution i should set in conf.ini..... which one did you put in?

Windows will tell you!
Look in the ... Settings / Advanced Display Settings ... (W10)
My laptop is in 1600x900!

just a question though, how come i seem to have lost the lovely sound of my fly bies,they seem to be the stock ones,,,,,,,, strange though since in my old pc they are the good ones....may it be a matter of sound settings?

what sound ? Tiger Mod UV2 or UV3 ? Read readme of Tiger sound for setting in conf.ini !
Or your new sound card is less compatible!

UV3 version, I'll have a look at the conf.ini
besides I hope there's nothing wrong with my sound card and I wonder how I can find out....

Do you use a winter map with frozen rivers?
This problem has been reported!
A fix, perhaps two, allows to "unfreeze" the rivers!

Sorry Epervier, but what has a map to do with sounds?

I do not know ! But the absence of "flyby" sounds on the maps with the frozen rivers was reported a long time ago!

... do you have this in your conf.ini [sound] section ...?

SamplingRate=1
NumChannels=4

... and this in your [Render_OpenGL] section :

HardwareShaders=1

Thank you all!!!!! now, after months of trial and error stuff, following all your advises, I managed to get my beautiful tiger's sounds back!!! thank Epervier, thanks Mick mixing all your info made it work!!! great to have people committed like you as il-2 friends of mine!!!! o man these Merlin growls!!!!! Grazie now really my install is complete!!!!
