Typo in GWIN_1940load
« on: March 19, 2017, 05:12:57 AM »

Morning, found yesterday that there's a typo in the load file for Can English Channel Winter 1940 - 1941 causing this map not to open. Just change the name of sk_AlteredBush8aw.tga into GW_AlteredBush8aw.tga solves this problem.
So Tree0 = Trees/sk_AlteredBush8aw.tga must become Tree0 = Trees/GW_AlteredBush8aw.tga

Open for me.  BAT up to EXPack7.  This would be an edit in the map file, no?  In BAT are these not in sfs format?  Have you unpacked your map files or was this found in the single map download?

Hi, well I don't know how the typo got into this file, but now the map works ok  :)

@jpten: Its not in the mapfiles, in #WAW2\Mapmods\Maps\Can_EnglishChannel are a number of 'map loading' files, I made the change in GWin_1940load.

@HP, I find this very interesting.  I have been working on a mission making mod involving the Gilb Can_EnglishChannel 40-41 maps well before CUP.  So when I clean installed BAT I had to setup my mod files in the WAW2 mapmods folder and I recall the folder containing only the the all.ini map list and the il8n folder with 1 maps.properties file.
I went to my BAT downloads. BAT26, BAT29, BATEP01, 02 and 03 are the only downloads that seem to address the WAW#2 Mapmods folder.  All seemed to me to only have the files I mentioned above.
  Not to assume anything wrongly.
Did your BAT install go over a clean vanilla IL2 install patched to 4:12:2m?  When you wrote "causing this map not to open" were you trying to open in FMB or loading in QMB? Could I trouble you to list the 'map loading' files you found in your WAW#2/mapMods folder?

Hi jp, I checked my Mapmods folder and in it are Maps and i18n. In maps are Tex, date 18-3, 225 (1) map files like 2B_FlightTest etc, all dated 9-3 and finally all.ini, dated 5-1. Checked BAT downloads and you are right on that. Can't explain where these 225 files came from.

If you like a good mystery,
2B_FlightTest is an OLD map possible still current in the DBW mod.  Ghost in the shell i reckon.

Well I can't remember what I downloaded March 9 that caused these files to appear in Maps. Can one of the BAT specialist advise if these folders should be there or not.

Yes mate

#WAW2\Mapmods\Maps\Can_EnglishChannel - should NOT be there.  All maps are compressed to SFS.  All MAPMODS folders are small and contain only All.ini, i18n/Maps.Properties and MAPS/_TEX/water/animated/ (an old water fix for a Pacific Map).

Ok, than it is a flaw in my install; I renewed MAPMODS from the BAT files mentioned by jpten, put it in #WAW2 and got the initial problem back: 'CAN_EnglishChannel/W1940load.ini' loading error. Now I have _Tex\Trees\SK_AlteredBush8awTrunkTL.tga back in MAPMODS and the mission loads  :-[

Monty, perhaps you can tell me in which SFS file the load.ini for this map is, so I can replace that one and see what happens next? Although I can live with the current situation. Many thanks for BATEP08, just installed, works like a charm
