Belated recognition

From my cousin Stanley Chambers' biography.

165 Squadron, RAF Culmhead, Somerset, early 1944:

"A whole set of brand new Spitfire IXs arrived, flown in by Air transport Auxiliary (ATA) pilots, who were all women.  They flew them all in in one day, took the old ones away and we were left with all these brand new Spitfire IXs.”
