A-4 cockpit
« on: May 27, 2017, 11:19:44 AM »

Anybody figured out what the amber light at the 10 o'clock position near the clock indicates? It has been on and off but I cannot correlate any function or indication to it.

I got the single red light is low fuel, I am thinking the 2 red lights that come on at 21% fuel  must indicate the wings are dry and I am on he internal tank.

The Amber light is a mystery to me!

Could it be a stall indicator?

Does not act like one for me.  Comes on or off with no apparent relation to speed TPT , rear Bearing temp, fuel state

Are you talking about the version of A-4 "borrowing its cockpit from stock YP-80" one ?

The amber light might be always turned-on also on stock YP-80 cockpit ..... I don't know when it will be turned-off.

How about researching (Y)P-80 / F-80 real flight manuals ?

I GOT IT!!!
It is a trim position indicator light.

Lite ON indicates elevator trim in mid position.

The 105 or 100 has something similar it think

The real F-86 does, it blinks as you trim up when it hits the correct trim position for take off.
