Searching for FMB guide
« on: May 29, 2017, 09:31:50 PM »

I want to learn how to use the FMB to update old DGen campaigns like Third Anniversary but I have no idea how to use it. I have downloaded the tutorials by KiwiBiggles from 2012 just now but is there any guide for the latest FMB? I have looked but can't findanything else. Thanks.

I guess you're refering to this tutorial?

In fact there weren't any big changes when it comes to handling the FMB .. and KiwiBiggles' tut's are a great starting point for getting used to it ;)

Of course there are a few objects (especially the C&C ones) where you'll have to know what you're doing, but those have their own manuals in the release files.

For the beginning I'd recommend you to get used to FMB itself (read: build a few small & easy missions yourself). Have a look how certain changes in the FMB mean influence the mission and its outcome.
If you don't know about the basics, building/editing larger missions can get frustrating very fast ..

That tutorial was excellent. I used it before I started making missions and campaigns.

Thanks for the replies. Yes that is what I had found. I've read that you can test missions (and hopefully campaigns) though I haven't had time to check into it yet. It seems that this is intended for building missions so I will probably need help in checking out DGen campaigns. I would also like to apologize for starting this thread in the tech help section I wasn't sure where to start. Thanks again!
