Looking for campaigns
« on: June 16, 2017, 11:24:13 AM »

So I just installed BAT however assuming I didn't just do something wrong it does not come with any built in campaigns the way CUP did, correct? If so can someone recommend any good campaign compilations I can use with it, I'm specifically interested in Luftwaffe (preferably Western Front) or IJN ones. Thanks!

Thank you! I assume there are others that work besides just the ones under the BAT listings though right?

There are are a lot here http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&c=3

I am no expert in regards IL-2 1946 & BAT, so i cannot advise you on which work and which do not.

I don't generally install a campaign if it is for a version earlier than 4.12.2m

From how I see it, in WAW most CUP campaigns or any stock campaign for 4.12 or earlier should work or be worth trying.

There are only very few things I can think of that would break any of those.

DOF and JTW are different animals due to aircraft naming and loadout changes and need to be looked at more closely. But there's nothing FMB in combination with a text editor can't fix;)

Bear in mind that maps in BAT that were also in stock versions of the sim have slight variations between them. The location of a shoreline, position of buildings, etc, may be meters apart when a BAT map is compared to a stock one. This can also happen when a campaign made with an older map mod is used with BAT.

I unfortunately found this out when I installed my own 'White sun, blue sky' campaign in BAT. Still playable, but the location of objects in some cases makes no sense.

I agree with what Former_Older mentioned. There might be various "bugs" and discrepancies which takes long time to correct. Or you are lucky and all is OK from the start.
I stumbled at number of issues when began to convert my CUP missions to BAT. Some missions were easy to correct, while others I just put in backburner until I have more time.
