Hey all,
A couple of days ago I got a message from Photobucket to upgrade my account otherwise linking images to a webforum (3rd party hosting) is not functioning anymore.
At first I was suspicious it might be scam but no it isn't.
You gotta pay now to show your screenshots or whatever you want to share with the community.

And indeed, checking my older posts here which included images uploaded to Photobucket are not shown anymore. 
Browsing around give me same negative results from other users.

I already use Postimage nowadays but a nasty trick from Photobucket that even old images disappeared from fora and not just newly uploaded images.

In my case Photobucket pictures dissapear after awhile from sites. And have done for years, so I stopped using it

We have an integrated picture upload mechanism from postimage.org here at SAS, so for uploading an image every other day there's basically no need to use anything else.
If you're frequently using images for specific projects or want to categorize your images or even are some kind of artist, other services are useful of course.
I'm using flickr for quite some time now and never encountered any issues with their free service.
Neither did any image suddenly disappear, nor have there been any restricitions on image hotlinking.

I just did a quick check with some posts here of mine from 2013 and 2014 and the pics from photobucket are still there.
I have a lot of pics in photobucket but I'm only at 11% of the allowed space so maybe that's the problem?
In fact, let's see if I can post some right now...





I have to admit though, that Photobucket useability has deteriorated quite a lot.  It's not intuitive at all and to be honest quite clunky to use now.

Photobucket no longer allowing 3rd party hosting of images for free, Had an email from Photobucket this morning basically saying they want $399.99 a year to reinstate 3rd party hosting.

Same here. I have used less than 6 % of my free Photobucket space; but still in order for a 3rd party host it's 399.99 dollars a year.

This PB situation is one step removed from ransomware.

Screw 'em. My only regret is that my map templates, skins, and campaign no longer have screenshots.

Indeed hostingpics.net seems to have trouble with language selection, the .org page (which should be the english version) redirects to the french .net page and https either doesn't work at all (.org) or bumps back to http (.net).

I've been using PB for years and am over 80% of free limit. I get regular offers to go onto a paid service but so far still working ok.

Non, mais je comprend Français un petit peu, so it's not a horrible problem. Pas d'argent c'est bon!
