I tried to install your beautifull map on VPmodpack (and HSFX) but it doesn't work. I've imported the SFS files fom 4.13 but still, I can open those map (yours and the DT's one) but I cannot fly above them.
So does anyoe knows what could be missing ?
thanks for the help

... same with me, most probably missing objects, then you can't save missions ...  ::(

That's the usual problem when a map is made with a specific version of the game, the one you are not using, then you most probably won't have all the necessary objects ...  :-X

Only one single missing object, and you won't be able to save missions on the map ...  :(

You can use the static.ini checker tool to find which objects are missing, but then you'll have to find these missing objects somewhere, install them and add the appropriate lines in your static.ini file ...  ;)

Hi Guys

Did you re-read Post#1 - I've added some additional download instructions, especially about the .rc file

Hi Mick:

Missing objects in my static.ini:

buildings.House$FurnitureNGNBPalmAg1
buildings.House$FurnitureNGNBPalmAs1
buildings.House$FurnitureNGNBPalmAs2
buildings.House$FurnitureNGNBPalmAg2
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundTurn
buildings.House$NGNBBlastPen5sides
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundTaxiEnd
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundTaxi
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundRunway
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundRunwayEnd
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundParkingSide
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundParkingCorner
buildings.Plate$NGNBPac_GrHardstandLarge

I got it working by deleting the characters chain 'NGNB' inside the actors.static (using Actors Static Lite v0.93).

Cheers.

Yes it works ! Actually, I got the wrong 3Do27.SFS file and now it's okay but I had to add the entries for the NGNB to make it work. Nevertheless, I cannot fly above New Guinea from DT in VPmodpack but it works with HSFX so.....
it's a nice map and I hope you'll improve it a bit (particulary the volcanoes ; I've been to Bali, Java and Lombok and it could be great to picture the volcanoes because they're just beautifull from above)
thanks....

I had similar results to that of sakai.  Squashman's map now works in my BAT 12 but I had to add the entries for the NGNB into the static .ini to make it work - and to maintain the integrity of the other maps I had to leave intact the non-NGNB entries, but the effort was worth it - a very nice map!.
The New Britain/New Guinea maps also now show up in the FMB and appear to accept mission editing but the edited maps cannot be saved as missions and I cannot fly (play) from the map. Would anyone know if any of the other sfs files/entries from 4.13.3 are needed to be imported into 4.12 BAT to make those 4 maps work?
My thanks to Squashman for his efforts - and his detailed instructions.

Hi Mechanic - are you sure you added the entries for the SFS files to the .rc file?
I have the Java map and NGNB maps fully functioning in all versions of IL2 including VP Modpack

Hi guys - re: my previous post -

see Installation Instructions (Post#1)

Code: [Select]
You must then ADD the following entries into your 4.12 .rc file to enable the sfs files to work -
The .rc file is inside STD folder - Mods (#WAW, SAS etc)/STD/RC file

@sfs MOUNT fb_3do27.sfs
@sfs MOUNT fb_maps21.sfs

Let me know your progress
regards
Squash

Squashman,

I did add the sfs files (from 4.13.4) and edited the .rc file correctly. I ran the static .ini checker and it said all static .ini files were accounted for but in going through the logfile I came across the (bold underlined) text referencing statics in the mission file I tried to save (borneotest3.mis) and play using the March 1943 NGNB map:

(MainWin3D.java:131)
   at com.maddox.il2.game.Main.exec(Main.java:449)
   at com.maddox.il2.game.GameWin3D.main(GameWin3D.java:235)
MissionLoad: 'missions/borneotest3.mis' - section MAIN not found
        java.lang.NullPointerException
   at com.maddox.il2.objects.Statics$Block.isDestructed(Statics.java:806)
   at com.maddox.il2.objects.Statics.saveStateHouses(Statics.java:374)

   at com.maddox.il2.builder.PlMisDestruction.save(PlMisDestruction.java:198)
   at com.maddox.il2.builder.Plugin.doSave(Plugin.java:312)

   at com.maddox.il2.builder.PlMission$58.execute(PlMission.java:2517)

(full log file below)

Does any of this give direction on where my problem is?

Thanks for your help.

It seems the 3do27sfs file contains the objects for the NGNB maps in 4.13, while of course the maps21sfs file contains the maps themselves. Trying to save missions without the .rc file will give exactly the same results as you report. However, some members report having to also add the static ini entries to get missions to save. Personally I didn't need to do this, but if I remove the rc file entries then I can't save missions. Give me a little time to look at my own logfiles to see if I can spot any anomalies.
Meanwhile check your rc file entries for typos and ensure they are entered in the correct sequential order in the rc file.

By the way, I can confirm that the static ini NGNB objects in crimars' post above are the correct ones

Hi: I have modified your actors.static for my use because I don't have the 3Do27.SFS file in my 4.09 install.

I have changed the lines (objects not present in my static.ini):

buildings.House$FurnitureNGNBPalmAg1
buildings.House$FurnitureNGNBPalmAs1
buildings.House$FurnitureNGNBPalmAs2
buildings.House$FurnitureNGNBPalmAg2
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundTurn
buildings.House$NGNBBlastPen5sides
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundTaxiEnd
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundTaxi
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundRunway
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundRunwayEnd
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundParkingSide
buildings.Plate$NGNBGroundParkingCorner
buildings.Plate$NGNBPac_GrHardstandLarge

by the lines (objects already in my static.ini):

buildings.House$FurniturePalmAg1
buildings.House$FurniturePalmAs1
buildings.House$FurniturePalmAs2
buildings.House$FurniturePalmAg2
buildings.Plate$GroundTurn
buildings.House$BlastPen5sides
buildings.Plate$GroundTaxiEnd
buildings.Plate$GroundTaxi
buildings.Plate$GroundRunway
buildings.Plate$GroundRunwayEnd
buildings.Plate$GroundParkingSide
buildings.Plate$GroundParkingCorner
buildings.Plate$Pac_GrHardstandLarge

I think there are only few difference between these objects, so I can live with it.

By the way, the things needed for map objects (and saving with no problem) are:

- 3Do27.SFS (if this one have the objects...)

- the .rc file modified accordingly

- the static.ini with the correct entries

Cheers.
