B-17E Philippines 1942 Red and White Rudder Stripes
« on: July 20, 2017, 07:01:44 AM »

Hey Guys,

Been reading about Royce Force Special Mission of 1942 a fair bit.

              See here :   http://www.defensemedianetwork.com/stories/the-royce-special-mission/
                                http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146680
                                http://www.historynet.com/forgotten-valor-royce-special-mission.htm

Does anyone have , or can anyone make a B17E skin in OD , with the early war
Red and White Rudder pattern ?
              Thanks ,

Hi Kopfdorfer,

The picture on one of your links that shows the Red and White stripes on the rudder of the B-17E seems to be painted in the Hawaii Air Depot scheme. I've researched this before building an old B-17E kit in 1/72 a while back and wanted to depict the Royce Raid and ended up deciding on the Hawaii Air Depot Scheme. I must've seen additional pictures. Just cant remember where at the moment.

You can find it at the Mission4Today site under the B-17 section.
