TGA Zeppelins?
« on: August 30, 2017, 10:48:42 AM »

vampire_pilot has created a fantastic skin for the Zeppelin P:

This raises the notion of adding later model Zeppelins to TGA, the heyday of made-in-Germany, US Navy Zeppelins.

Something to think about, along with the addition of F9C Sparrowhawks.  ;D

While the idea of putting the Zeps to TGA has been discussed before, there just are these three 3D models currently.

So all that could be done is trying to get them into BAT TGA but it will be the same 3D as the ones in DOF in any case unless somebody takes up the task to model some newer ones like Los Angeles, Akron and Makon or Graf Zeppelin....

It did occur to me that the newer types you mention (along with, z.B. Hindenburg) would require new models. Akron, Macon, and LA would need to have internal hangars incorporated as well, this in addition to the Sparrowhawk itself. I'm sure this has crossed some Il-2 modelmaker's mind, along with the thought of producing the smaller, anti-submarine blimps used during the war. Just keeping the thought alive.

Speaking of elaborate models, a week ago today I was in McMinnville, Oregon, visiting and photographing the Spruce Goose. Hmmmmm....  ;D

Yeah but I for one would already be happy with a Makon sized 3D and external hooks like the TBF bombers with their I-16 buddies :D
