Hey Guys,
I know skins have been done of this Sqdn and Grp before (partnered with the 487th FS of the
352nd FG the 390th were at y-29 Asch on the date of Bodenplatte).
I don't think anyone has done a skin quite like this...

Please note the following...
Aircraft is a P-47 Razorback - suggest for P47D-22.
1. Cowl , Upper Wing Surfaces , and Cockpit Frame are unpainted metal.
2. Lower fuselage appears to be medium grey - landing gear covers appear to be unpainted metal ,
suggesting the underwing surfaces (other than remains of D-Day stripes) should also be unpainted metal.
3. Cowling has a broad (flat) black stripe encircling it ahead of the cowl flaps.
4. Fuselage is OD Green.
5. Assume the aircraft has the period version of the reduced D-Day stripes scheme typical of a US
9th AF aircraft of the Dec 1944 period - Lower fuselage (below the stars and bars) and under the
wings.
I am most interested in generic US markings and a blank version - no Sqdn codes, personal emblems
or kill markings for my purposes (though I am sure other users will love an historically accurate rendering).
It looks like this bird has seen some heavy use. While for my purposes a version with light or no wear is fine ,
some dirt , stains and paint chipping patches would also seem appropriate.
To me this is quite a unique paintscheme - I hope it interests one of you talented skinners out there.
PS - There WAS a skin of Magic Carpet , from the pic in question , at M4T , however not in an unmarked version.
Thanks for all the great work.
