Hi people,
Here with another request.
What do I mean by delayed destruction:
Think of the default train carts. You destroy them, you get that pop-up message in the HUD that "something: destroyed" - I have them disabled - and then, only after few seconds the train cart changes mesh to destroyed, there is a puff of smoke (explosion), followed by vertical smoke.
And that is the delay I mean.
Basically, when you destroy a car, it does not immediatelly change to burned. The basic idea would be simply coppying the code used for trains.
Realistically, I imagine it like this:
You shoot a car/truck/tank.
Vehicle is counted as destroyed.
There is a small fire. (let's say, 5 seconds later)
Later a bigger fire with smoke. (+ another 5 seconds)
Only after that the mesh changes. (+15 seconds)
After the thing is completely burned out, smoke disappears. (+15 seconds - to save frames)
Now of course fuel trucks/ammunition trucks would be exceptions, those would go off immediately...
Also, currently -
any unit you destroy, there is a flash of light. Even when you torpedo a ship - if you destroy it, it lights up. It should be visible really well at night. I think this could also be removed
I hope this peaked interest.
Cheers,
Koty
