Hello Vega, a big thank for these updates really needed...
Only one question:
How can I manage the flaps (combat, take-off and landing).
In the previous versions of crusaders they did work such as other jets but in these new versions the F-8 seems to work only in landing positions.
Maybe I do something  in the wrong way or I forgot some particular way for make them work?

Real F-8 might have only 2x flaps positions --- Down (Landing) or Up (Clean).
No middle steps in its selector lever.

By the way, this F-8 looks not modeled leading edge droop flaps (inner and outer).
They are flaps, not slats.
They droop following flaps down.
And also working as combat flaps separately operated main flaps. It's called as "cruise droop".

Ah... FN and later J variants had double leading edge droop flaps and main wing lift degree is
decreased.


P.S.
In reading flight manual of F-8D, leading edge flaps control is full manual.
No automatic droop / up like referring AoA.

Gaston, you mentioned you made corrections in the air.ini and plane.properties. would you mind posting those changes, maybe that's what is wrong with mine. Any help appreciated.

I did not express myself well, I think (sorry : English is not my language...). I mean I just copied and paste the lines of the readme in air.ini and plane.properties, desactivating the old ones with a //. But did not modify the lines coming with the mod (15 in total).





EDIT : hotfix has solved the R-530 problem ! Thanks !

Initially I encountered a CTD but this was cured by using the lines in the first post, previously I used those in the download. o_O


Another issue I had was that if I remove/deactivate the old Crusader pack I get a CTD at 20%, could it be something else in my game
uses the old cockpits?

As I have described not few times, loadout index texts are weapon.properties format is recommended.

In example, here is F-8E's index texts errors.


Players cannot know "8xMk82+4xAim9" loadout gives what type AIM-9. Is it AIM-9C? or AIM-9D? or some other subtypes ? not clear, and have to memorize their subtypes once fly and watch. They are frustrated labor.

Written in No weapon.properties format like today's , fixing these errors needs classfile rebuild and re-publish.
I'm waiting next update but .... if weapon.properties format is provided from the 1st publish version, we can teach each other how to fix those small error in weapon.properties entries and no need to hurry modders updating such small things.

As I said, I already did that and your pack worked as it should. ;)


The issue was when I removed the OLD PACK, I got a CTD, and yes I had removed all the previous entries.


Anyway, I went through each part of that pack and deactivated each folder and then each class file until I found the problem.


This class has to be in my game '3727C4BC97895F8A' if it is removed or deactivated the CTD occurs.


The decompiled class is 'TypeNoOpenCanopyFly', so does your pack require this?



Could you please at least give me a clue as to what I need to be looking at, your mod or something else in my install?
