Bat size issue
« on: December 21, 2017, 10:04:11 PM »

Hi all,
I'm new to the community and have watched tons of videos on CUP and BAT.  Now I want to mod my copy but im running into some major issues.  I live in the rocky mountains in Colorado and thus internet services are shotty at best.  I was wondering if a member of the community here could send me a CD with BAT burned on it.  Also I'm running the game thru steam so I'm not sure if rhe mega patch was installed correctly. Thanks

hi and welcome, mate :D
i'm far away in the south-eastern tip of africa, but i'm pretty sure one of the members nearer you might be able to help out.
internet's not great here, either - i thin the BAT stuff took me over a week to d/l, but well worth every MB.... :D
good luck with it, and enjoy!

Well, nobody can answer that from afar.
But to mod the game you need to move it out of the steam location. Just move the whole game elsewhere on the drive, like C:\\Games\Il-2 BAT\ or something.
Il-2 is impartial to that, it can be moved around and still works.

Do not let it sit in Programs or any such windows protected locations, you will run into trouble when mods try to access files there.

107 CDs to be precise.
The feasibility of such thing would have TBD.

I live in central Colorado. My BAT downloads folder is 107gb, though I can probably trim the expansions now that Charlie/Sealion/Pathfinder has them. I'd be up for transferring to a hard drive or something. PM me if you want.
