I was wondering if it is possible to copy the submarine files of the correct length and rename them as JIN subs?  Several of the subs, I-17 to I-37 are 108m and RO-33 to 56 and the 69 series are 75m are very close to the listed lenghts?
Yes... BUT...
But it will be necessary to create the different entries in the ini files!
Then you will have to create the new Java Classes for these new sm !

Otherwise you can leave in the state and only modify the file technics(_ru).properties !
In this case, the only visible names will be the new names you have given!

SAS~Eperview
Thank you for your response.  I will look at the _ru files.  I am not clear on what to change in the technics file as I want to use the effect and call it a Japanese submarine in a quick mission file or FMB.

The easiest way is to place a submarine underwater on the map. The one with the desired approximate size.
And to change the camp: blue instead of red.
The shadow of a submarine at depth does not have its name to display during the mission.
