IMHO, it's very immersive.
How many missions do you have where AI uses that feature? One? Two?
Not saying that it isn't immersive, it's just that it's one of those features which have been implemented in a way that makes it so barely useable.

Cheers!

Ah ok ... I understand well what you mean.
I forgot to mention that I only fly my home made missions.
Right, building a mission which AI start at the apron is a bit tricky, espacially if you're not the leader of the flight, but it's worth it.

Cheers

Sorry about the mis direction. It was the reference to  " down load a Client " that led me to my thought about comms but it could also refer to a server client I suppose. Which is of course not needed to host a group on line game.

Actually I'm one of four or five people that actually enjoy the "taxi to takeoff" feature.  We're using HSFX for coop online only so the spawn issue...isn't one and the MDS is n/a for us too.

Point taken about the AI however, both friendly and enemy, as we've had some frustrations on that front such as friendlies not attacking a target when ordered or flying into the ground at the home airfield when "returning to base".

We tried DBW online but could not get decent performance whereas HSFX for whatever tech/mod reason is smooth as silk so we've stuck with that (mainly due to some of our group having "mid-range" machines so to speak).  We had an outstanding go with the old Big Birds campaign which I converted for online (30+ B-17s per mission with no issues).  That being said, if UP3 is online-friendly and has some more "extras" perhaps we should look at it more closely.

Now if I got it right BAT could be played in coop, but it would be without comms. So if I would like to play with a friend with two pc on the same desk sharing the same wifi line would I be able to do it? and if the answer is yes What should I do in order to do it?  Free to Kill me for this may be silly question hahah

We...in our small group have played on line with sim for as long as it has been around....
with the recent Blitz upgrade we have found our home base and carrier home base does not show on out flight combat map when we are on line....I know the on line intent is not there....but if someone in the know could if possible make a ''hot fix'' for this as happened at one time before...we would be most appreciative...

in reply to the original question...
yes....it can and is being played on line...
Discord is a free comms site and works well for us.
host a dogfight server and join via ip to ip
were mostly mid 70's to mid 80's but have such a wonderful time thanks to all the hard work here....
best stress relief as well as keeping us young at heart out there....
thanks all,
PD

my carrier problem with the carriers not showing on the mini map was an in  game setting: as it had to have changed with  the new install...we are all so pleased with this upgrade and for those who wish to know...….it performs on line superbly...
