Dear Gaston,
ok for the exclamation mark but in QMB the BV138B does appear in the list but doesn't appear  neither in the second page nore in the game.
In FMB it is among the objects but I can't get its image.
There must be something wrong in the folder.
Best regards.

You're welcome,
Forgive the question, if it would be possible to get a "normal" skin for this aircraft.
I am thinking of this in the summer folder

I have built a little test flight for these birds. Nothing pretentious, just to do some tests about take-off/landing.

Everything well for take-off. But for landing, it is another question. First, I tried landing in open sea (on no "base"). At last waypoint before landing WP, plane behave bizarrely, and crashes. So, I modified it, make it land at an seaplane-base. And what happens ? instead of landing at indicated place, the aircraft goes to the nearest base (a land base), and land there... very bizarre...

Maybe you want to try it too. Just copy this with notepad or any text editor in a txt file, and changr from txt to mix. Put it in the Ar-196 folder, and observe what happens. As BV-138s are not flyable, player's plane is a Ar-196. Once you are sitting in the plane, just engage auto-pilot, so plane will take off and go his way. The BV-138 will appear, for the first 4-5 minutes after mission beginning (so the Ar has time to take-off...), and for the second, wait 4-5 minutes more. And observe how they behave. I do not know why they choose to land on a ground base, and not at the sea-base assigned...

Here is the text to copy in the txt file :

This test flight has been made in BAT/WAW, butI guess any version of the game (modded, of course, and having the Truk map and flyable Ar-196) can play it.

And comment about what I made wrong... maybe we all can learn something !

. I do not know why they choose to land on a ground base, and not at the sea-base assigned...

I believe this is caused by the implements in the classfile. Currently it has TypeSailPlane as an implement, which works fine in my 4.09 game and should work in 4.10 games also. I believe in 4.12 and 4.13 versions of the game you need to change that implement to TypeSeaplane.

Oh, I see. So, a 4.12 Version should be made, right ?

Dear Gaston,
I got it, la nuit porte conseil, a good sleep brings advice.
Splendid aircraft. Should be flyable.
BTW Gaston, when you have made all your improvements, could you please summarize them?
Congrats to Aviaskins.
Regards.

Tartenmuche... I did not do any improvement to the plane, just tried to copy the rear turret on the B version, but I am not satisfied, as I explain in post no 69, in which I explain what I did. But revert back, as I think I made something wrong, but do not know what. So, I have nothing satisfying to summarize. Sorry !

Any hope to see this correction made for 4.12 ?

Here are the necessary class files for each type converted from the sources posted by Dimon at AviaSkins to allow both the BV 138 aircraft to land on water in your modded 4.12.2 game. ;)

Mediafire link:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/4qatgew3dy1aic3/BV%20138B%20and%20BV138MS%20convert%20to%20seaplane.zip

Just backup your existing class in each of your folders and add the same version in the download.

4.21.2 with ModAct 5.30:

Thank you very much to Dimon for the aircraft and sources, really appreciated. 8)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
