Saitek X52 Pro drivers
« on: March 30, 2018, 04:36:25 PM »

Hope this is in the right forum if not admin please remove.

I would like to warn fellow flight simmers if you use a Saitek X52 PRO I have for many years and I just used the Windows drivers (I run Windows 7 64 bit) now I thought it was about time I used the Saitek (now Logitech) drivers so I downloaded and install and found the mouse cursor was just moving to the bottom of the screen, tried another mouse same thing so after many hours I disconected the Joystick and got my mouse back.

Tried uninstalling the Saitek drivers with no luck Windows just reinstalled them so in desperation after many many hours I went into the registry after first backing it up and deleted all I could find Saitek or X52.

And now I just let Windows install the Microsoft driver and all is well except I can not program the buttons on the throttle that's no problem for me.

WARNING DO NOT MESS WITH THE REGISTRY IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

And use the Saitek drivers at your own peril.

What you describe simply means that the mini mouse on your throttle is broken:

This is a hardware issue, not a driver one.
The fact that this didn't happen before is because the standard windows drivers don't contain the mini mouse driver, so that mini mouse will simply be inactive if you don't install the Saitek drivers.

Nevertheless, should anyone happen to have to reinstall his drivers for the Saitek X-52, X-52 Pro or any other Saitek product, I strongly recommend not to install newer drivers from Logitech, but to use the original Saitek ones instead, which are still available here:
ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/full/

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply Storebror you seem to be a very knowledgeable person do you know if I could disconnect the mouse on the throttle or best just leave it alone, like I said I can live without it but it would be nice to have the throttle buttons working.

Sure.
Two possibilities: After installing the Saitek drivers, enter the game controller setup, choose the X-52 joystick and switch to the deadzones tab.
Extend both Mouse X and Y deadzones so they cover whatever neutral position your ministick currently has.
Second possibility: Deaktivate the ministick driver. Should be one of the drivers in the "Human Interface Devices" category, don't ask me which.

Cheers!

I have a similar issue. I have the standard X52 not the pro and did not have a way to install the drivers to make the mouse work. The stick and the mouse were two different drivers that came on the install disc if I remember corectly. One day after Windows 10 did a huge update I noticed my mouse clicking on things when I hadnt done it. It went crazy. As if the computer was haunted. :) Then finaly I saw that in my control panel it was saying I had two mice running and figured out what was happening.

Mike, which of these do you think is best for the standard X52, not the pro, and I'm running a 64 bit system?

Also, what is the last link? SD6?

Hi Mark,

You have to dive into the subfolder according to your product.
For the X-52 (not pro) it's ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/full/X52/
Use both drivers and software version 7.0.53.6, 64 Bit.

Cheers!

What are the reasons for this?
