Textures tree
« on: March 31, 2018, 03:37:00 PM »

Hi Guys
I have a problem with retexturing of EastBalt.
I ´ve made a new textures on the map. It looks very good but...
There are trees on the water...
How can remove it ?
What does it means `` Clear Water `` in the main menu of the Open FMB ?

Happy Easter and best regards

The trees on water is due to a wrong texture "under" the water. You must edit the map_T by replacing the default texture with a water texture at the place wher the rivers lay. Understand a water texture as one of the texture from the water section of the load.ini file : water 28, 29, 30 or 31. Whatever you want. Any texture would work at the condition it is entered into one of the water slots.

- water 28 is the "river coastline". That only means it makes no surf on shore.
- Water 29 is quite the same but has a great advantage : It is recognize specifically by the sim and permits the autobridge fucntion of the open FMB to work. (Water 28 does not)
- Water 30 is the texture you will see through shallow water.
- Water 31 is the "sea texture" since it makes surf on the shore. I remember it should work with autobridge but I'm not totally sure.

Thanks Uzin.
Despite the fact I've never share any maps, I'm working on 2 new maps for several years.
I've had to stop during 2 or 3 years due to heavy trouble in my life.
Nevertheless, one of these 2 maps should be released soon.

Hallo Guys !
I  just found the simple method to delete those trees...
In open FMB ( MapBuilder) select object/tile/midland3...
Press F on your tastature
And drag the poiter of your mouse on the map along the river through its center. ( Size 3 or 5)
The trees  will disappear from the river....

Don't do that. All you're doing is replacing 1 heavily treed land tex with another land tex with fewer trees.

Replace the land tex with trees with the water tex. That is what should be in the middle of lakes and rivers.

Find the texture that is being used and put _fields at the end like this....  handygrass_fields.tga   The _fields keeps trees from showing on that texture.

The water2 entry and whatever texture that is on the shoreline will need to have the _fields added to the entries.

If you don't know which one is being used, go down the list in the load.ini and add the _fields to one at a time to see which one it is.

Use the seabed water tex that is even above lowland0 at the top of the list of texes. You know, the tex that looks like black ink was smeared on the map.
