Im on BAT 3.3.1 BTW

I'm having the same problem:

I don't recall seeing this prior to the 3.3.1 upgrade, and I should note that the anamoly does not always appear. For instance, I've yet to see this in a TGA mission.  ]dontknow[

Unfortunately, none of the conf.ini settings at the other end of the link kindly provided by vpmedia have solved the problem. As always, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have no explanation how 3.3.1 could be causing this.... There's no change in anything deep enough, 3.3.1 does not even touch maps texture files at all for example.
The changes to WAW are quite few and related to aircraft only.

Maybe there were graphics driver updates on your end or something?
Maybe it's connected to certain graphics cards only? We've seen brand specific bugs before.

Driver related. I have seen that before.

Try this in conf.ini (make sure to save your old conf.ini just in case) :

TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1
TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1
TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

A few time ago I had the same problem : https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58993.0.html

Best regards Charles

Check you logfile.
Is there a line saying:
"WARNING: 'Perfect' Mode is not supported for this combination of hardware and drivers."?

Firstly, thank you CharlesVBD 59, but the settings for the conf.ini items you've listed are already the same in my installation.

Here's a chunk of the logfile from my latest attempt at the He 177 QMB test mission, beginning approximately with the warning mentioned by vpmedia:
Code: [Select]
MaxAnisotropic (1.0 = none) : 16.000000
WARNING: 'Perfect' Mode required pixels shaders
WARNING: 'Perfect' Mode is not supported for this combination of hardware and drivers.

[Jul 7, 2018 8:22:25 PM] -------------- END log session -------------

My graphics card is by Intel, a 630, and I am aware that Intel cards aren't fully compatible with Il-2. I have had a problem I've reported in the past, about cloud details, but the problem to hand, the "following box" anomaly (it - or they - are always centered on the player aircraft), only appeared a couple of weeks ago, long after I'd upgraded to 3.3.1, and I'm just not finding the remedy for this. BTW, the problem does appear in all BAT modules, but it's so faint in the TGA career I'm flying that it's barely noticeable against the SCW landscape.

I ought also to add that in addition to my BAT installation, I also have a "stock" 4.13.4 installation on my hard drive, and there's no trace of this anomaly in that version.

Intel HD graphics controller is not compatible with IL-2's OpenGL graphics mode, it's fine for DirectX. I've seen the same error with some laptop graphics cards too.
The best advice I can give is to run your game in DirectX mode until you can get a desktop with a dedicated Nvidia graphics card.

Thank you, sir. I was afraid of that. That this problem appeared only a couple of weeks ago is aggravating; Intel must have issued an update. I have tried to change the video mode to DirectX, but it won't "take" - and I'll be reporting that in a new thread. Long story short, each time I try to convert to DirectX, as soon as I click "Apply," the sim CTDs, then restarts almost instantly - back in OpenGL, presumably the default mode. Here's the new thread:
