Any RC flyers out here?
« on: July 16, 2018, 02:28:03 PM »

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone here also flies RC aircraft?  I've been flying now for over 30 years and this is my newest plane.  :)  It's a Royal kit, B-25 with a wing span of 70" (1778 mm) The P-51 in the background is a 57" (1450 mm) wing span by FMS.

Here's is the build thread:

I am also an R/C modeller out here in Connecticut. I do big and small projects and I’m currently halfway through a 1/3 scale Rearwin Speedster 6000M. I’ve been building and flying for ten years. Most fun in the world I think.

They Look fabulous. I used to make models when I was young, but I was never into RC-airplanes though, only plastic.
The closest I have been associated with RC-Planes is giving permission to a few people on the internet ,who have asked me to use
my IL2-1946 skins to be used on their RC-planes!
Which is very cool. They made a large copy of my game skins, cut it up and pasted them
into their RC-plane. It is possible, I never thought about that.
Later they sent me pictures. I saw one of my Gotha-229 flying-wing take flight in an RC-plane!  ;D  Amazing!

Cool paint-scheme. I agree.  8) Very cool
It will be a classic B-25 with a very iconic skin.

I just took a quick ride around the internet and there seems to be 2 designs for the "Ruptured Duck".
The image you posted may have been another version? ... or perhaps the image artist found another type?

Ruptured Duck: Flown by Lt, Ted W. Lawson (Doolittle Raid)
This is the original B-25 design...

... found a bigger design of it , if you want to print it as a decal for your aircraft.

Not much of a builder, but I've flown on and off since I was 10. First started with a Tower Hobby 40 then a Funtana s40. After that I got into electric and starting with a Parkzone Spitfire. I've put that thing through the ringer, and then recently I bought a Parkzone F4F Wildcat.

Excellent Baron, I've also had the Parkzone Spit as well as the Fw-190. I flew both of those until the flight control surfaces started to pull away from the wings and stab.  :)

Here are a couple of pics from the Hawaii County R/C Club on the Big Island near my home town of Keaau.  :)

The Red Tail P-51 is what I flew today.  :)

Our field is roughly 600-700 ft long and 20 yards wide.  It's located on an old airport radar site used in the 1950's.
