ATTENTION! Rule about crediting 3d imports
« on: July 26, 2018, 11:30:44 AM »

Dear Modders

After some discussions, the SAS moderator team has decided to enhance and specify the crediting rules regarding 3rd party 3D importing vs. creating 3D 100% from scratch.

From now on it is mandatory to state whether a 3D model was built from scratch or is an import job, and if it's the latter, a statement about the origin would be welcome, but isn't mandatory.

possible credit examples:

100% my own 3D work:
Quote
3D model by vampire_pilot

imported 3D, no origin given:
Quote
3D import to Il-2 by vampire_pilot

imported, with origin disclosed:
Quote
original 3D by SuperFlightSim, imported to IL-2 by vampire_pilot

... you get the idea.

If you are in doubt or have questions, please don't hesitate to contact the nearest SAS moderator.

Modders are encouraged to also edit their older posts and credits accordingly.

Note: If you have used an imported model from outside IL2 but chose not to mention the original source or, if you have used an imported model from outside IL2 against the owner's wishes or without their permission: the SAS reserves the right, where the source was identified by investigation or by the original copyright holder, to amend the credits of the mod, or to remove it completely from our forum, and, in cases of breach of copyrights outside of IL2, to take any steps against the importer/poster as may be required.

Thanks for your attention!
Happy Flying!
