Aircraft Size Comparisons
« on: August 20, 2018, 07:34:05 PM »

The other day I was looking at some old photos and I stumbled upon some interesting stuff
about aircraft sizes.
If you find some more, post it here, I want to see them too.

Very true, I remember a few years back reading something said by Adolf Galland (the ww2 Luftwaffe ace)
that when he sat in a P-47 for the first time, it was like sitting in a living room compared to his Messerschmitt 109 .
Very comfortable and spacious fighter !  :D    It´s exterior size was also big.

And when the B-36 was built the B-29 went from being a Very Heavy Bomber to a Medium...

This is quite interesting.

Even though they say that size doesn't matter, I believe it does in this case.

The bigger the aircraft is, the easier the aircraft is to spot and hit by enemy fighters and flak.

i remember reading about raf fighter pilots telling thunderbolt pilots you guys will never survive in those trucks when they first saw them but they did and and proved themselves in the european air war to be more than a match for their opponents, the thud could absorb enormous damage and get home,a classic aircraft.
