Luftwaffe 1946 in JTW?
« on: November 06, 2018, 04:22:19 PM »

Is there a possibility of ever having the luftwaffe/japan experimental 1946 airplanes from WAW in JTW?
I mainly ask because having advanced 262s fighting against F86s or Panthers sounds quite fun, and its a shame that its not doable.

Hi ! It's not possible that way, as WAW and JTW contents are located in different archive files ; but since all the mod planes in WAW are available as standalone mods, with the links listed in the BAT Manual, you can easily install them one by one in JTW.

This is a fine idea that gets old once you realise how underpowered one side is. Just like a Camel vs a Spit: cool for a test or a fun ride, but pointless afterwards, and that takes a slot away. Serious thoughts go into every expansion to decide what goes where. B.A.T. engineers do a terrific job in this regard. I am sure you have been heard and I am not saying it cannot be done, on the contrary please: learn how B.A.T. is built and carry out tests! Manually installing the required mod and dependencies is the way to go, but that can break something elsewhere... Reinstating stock aircraft could also work. Try, in example, adding the following to your #JTW air.ini:

Code: [Select]
Me-262A-1a        air.ME_262A1A 2                               g01   SUMMER
Me-262A-1aU4      air.ME_262A1AU4 2                     NOINFO  g01   SUMMER
Me-262A-2a        air.ME_262A2A 2                               g01   SUMMER
Me-262HG-II       air.ME_262HGII 2                              g01   SUMMER

And see if that works... (not tested)

Have fun :)

I think there is Czechoslovakian Me 262 in JTW, unless I'm mistaken. Not very "advanced" one, of course.
