for once I respected the due date  ;D.

The Arizona is available at:

http://www.4shared.com/rar/CobrELOK/USSArizona.html

or for those disliking 4shared

Try it, and don't be shy, let me know any bug or error, even the "microbug"  :D

Enjoy the boat and receive my regards

Gianni

...is to be found in BAT? I wonder if any of the various Pearl Harbor SP's feature it? most are quite old by this time so I realize its doubtful, but hope springs eternal- the Arizona was a beautiful ship!

First of all, congrats on a great 3.5 update!
I just merged my old modded PAW module with the 3.5 content and it is amazing :)
and to confirm, Arizona works when you properly integrate her...
I have all the old US battlewagons in and they show up correctly...how they behave in a sea battle is a thingie I would need to test first though...

So does this modded ship need to br installed as per other newer or updated ships in order to see them in game/ I assume new missions would have to be added for this ship to show up as well?
Thanks!

The tricky thing is to get the correct set of classfiles...other than that it's easy to install them, just a lot of copy/paste in the initial files as usual for ships...

For missions you would have to insert them manually in the mission file or substitute the USBBGeneric in game with the Arizona or Colorado or whatever you choose from those old battle wagons...there is a guide posted in the Colorado thread on how to do it IIRC...

The thing with the USS Arizona mod in the game is that it really isn't the Arizona. The Arizona had tripod masts, not the lattice masts the stand in model has. I t was a completely different ship. If somebody wants to do a real USS Arizona I, for one, would be very grateful.

What basis you have in saying so ?

Here are screenshots of USS Arizona taken in B.A.T. v3.5 --- WAW.

Not tripod Masts ? ? ? really ?

BB39 Arizona as built did indeed have lattice masts, as did BB38 Pennsylvania and, for that matter, most of that generation of US BBs.

The lattice masts on most US BBs were replaced by tripod masts during the late 1920s and early '30s, but I believe that a couple of US BBs still had lattice masts during the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941.

Hmmmm…. I'll have to review the objects catalogs in BAT. Perhaps I can re-make a set of Pearl Harbor single missions I made a few years ago in the stock sim.

It turns out that I owe somebody an apology. I went back to my old DBW where I have a lot of ships that no long grace the harbors in newer versions. I had the Colorado, but not the Arizona. I installed the Arizona but in my haste to try it out I inadvertently loaded the Colorado instead of the Arizona into a mission. Then I compounded my error by not checking to see what I had screwed up. I looked at what I thought was the Arizona and saw the Colorado. When I rechecked just now I discovered what a dunce I had made of myself. My sincere apologies to all.

You're quite right, western0221; I should have been more specific about this. Pennsylvania, the name ship of the class, was modified in the same fashion during the 30s, and the screenshots you posted accurately depict Arizona as she appeared at the time of the raid, with blue vertical surfaces and the white mast tops.

Speaking of specificity, I just googled the subject, and I discovered that at least five of the BBs in Pearl Harbor that day still had lattice masts: Tennessee, West Virginia, California, and Utah. That's about twice as many as I would have guessed.

EDIT: propnut27 - No apologies necessary here. That's an interesting subject, a good question, and I just learned something new while scoping things out.
