With Vampirepilot's release of the templates for BAT 3.5's new Canberra's, I decided it was my turn to put forth some content

I present, Canberra B Mk.2s of the RhAF:

During the late 1970s, the Rhodesians began removing the markings on aircraft that were destined for cross-border raids against the ZIRPA and ZANLA terrs


Additionally, I've provided a marked generic


As well as "alternate" versions of R2005 and R2085. I've found no picture evidence that the Rhodesians ever had their Canberras in this scheme, but I saw these particular airframes represented with it in profiles, so I made them as extras

BTW Some Rhodesian AF Canberras had 4 rocket rails installed under the noses. These fired the same rockets as late 50s RAF Canberras did from underwing rails - one per rail. The Rhodesians couldn't fit underwing rails for various reasons (including the cost entailed by then having to install a gyro sight).

Al the Rhodesian Canberras serials had the number 5 inserted into the old RRAF serial (RRAF = Royal Rhodesian Air Force 1954-1962)

Seems like they had vanilla standard B.2 (probably the cheapest) which did not have any underwing hardpoints at all. I only know the wing hardpoints from two B.2 export variants: the Argentinian B.62 (I saw it with SNEB type launchers) and the Australian B.20 (I only saw it with bombs in Vietnam)
I heard about the Rhodesian missile field mod.

Yes, the 18 Rhodesian canberras were 15 ex-RAF B.2s and 3 T.4s, bought in 1959. (Serials RRAF 176 and RRAF 217 were T4s. RRAF 216 was a also T4, but later transformed into a B2 while 215 was originally a B2 transformed later into a T4)

Rhodesian Canberras and Rockets (60lb Rocket Projectiles):
The plan was to fit 4 rocket rails under the nose of the aircraft, utilizing the outboard rocket rails from the Provosts Mk 52. Despite gloomy predictions from the manufacturers, English Electric, the modifications were carried out. The first aircraft fitted with the projectiles flew on 6th April 1961, and successfully completed trials at Kutanga range.
Here's a photo with 2 of the Canberras displaying these rocket rails (not been able to find a better one) - and the "one spear" national insignia of the 1963-70 period) :

But how do I aim, you ask? Can you only complain? Take that gum out of your mouth, stick it to the windscreen and use your friggin thumb! Be a bit creative!

I just tried them and very much enjoyed - the Canberra is a great plane, flying very smooth, as it was with the real thing.
