X4 missiles (WAW)
« on: December 19, 2018, 10:35:07 PM »

Well, i'm not sure if I'm drinking the idiot juice or overlooking some basic documentation, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to work these missiles. I see that there is a wire guided and a homing version, but how do I work either of these? Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if its just showing me to the part of a manual I missed  ;D

The wire guided missile (which is the default 1946 implementation) can be controlled with the bombsight keys (which you might need to setup first).
That's the keys used for the bombsight aimer in level bombing flight.
The guided version - IIRC - either approaches any target you're pointing your nose at, or any that has been padlocked (default: F4 key) before. Padlock is that fancy triangle around another plane, that keeps you looking at just that plane's direction.

B.A.T.'s key Controls setting menu has more detailed description than stock 4.12.2m game; imported from 4.13.4m one.

"Turn Guided Weapon -- Right / Left / Up / Down --" keys are a set of Mike says.

In assigning those 4 keys on your Stick's 4 way Hat switch, you can operate X4 missiles intuitively.

Ahhh! Mike, Western, thank you so much! I'm relatively new to bat so a lot of the features still tend to fly over my head :D
