After the connection there is quite a large area, would it be possible to fit it into one map?

Joined area should cover about 485 x 280 km (acc.to Google Earth).
Since 1 km = 20pixels (of the size 50 m), the siíze of Mymap_c.tga file would be
9700 x 5600 . This is quite feasible, as compared to other maps in our Il-2.
Pure extension of Lvov map to the west is even more viable.

Thank you for your explanations, it only remains to be patient and hope that one of the map makers will find time to make such a map someday.

Another thing about the Lvov map is that it does not have the Dubno-Brody Battle area - which I immediately noticed when I got IL-2 back in 2001.

I am not asking to map the Dubno-Brody area.  I'm just saying that two of the largest battles in the region of Lvov map are literally right off the edges of it.  Why is that?  It's kind of strange and one reason why I have never made a campaign for this map.

As uzin has said, a westward extension of Lvov map all the way to the red line would be good.  This way the Lvov map would also be updated to modern Satellite data to show realistic mountains, hills, and valleys.  It would be a nice looking map that I'm sure many users would enjoy because of the rugged terrain.  Maybe Team Daidalos would like it too.

Here is another "release candidate" of Lvov map:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/b298a7wl4pvsaci/Lvov_RRR_rc1.7z/file

It was  inspired by Slovakia summer map, under recommendation of Toobone .
Map is now almost completely populated (manually),
some landmarks added,
airfields brought to more realistic appearance. On the contrary to Slovakia map, the runways  remained visible, in order to make easier landing for human pilots.
The Cannons´ blank field plates added, supposed that everybody has them installed now in 3do . Otherwise, write for sending them.

Credits:
   Piotrek1,
   Toobone ,
everybody who contribute any remarks or ideas.
