EE Canberra B.2 RAF early
« on: February 04, 2019, 09:00:18 AM »

The first RAF Canberras were delivered to 101 Sqn at RAF Binbrook in 1951 and were finished in the anti-searchlight scheme, similar to the Lincolns they replaced. A quite ironic, yet very elegant scheme for a bomber intended to operate at 40.000 ft.

Here are two schemes of that early "RAF Binbrook" kind, 948 of the 101 Sqn and 980 of the 617 Sqn, sporting their distinctive red nose flash.

enjoy :)

The post-WW2 RAF paint-schemes were always good looking.
Even the famous Christian Dior copied the R.A.F. "Noir et Blanc" paint-scheme !

Simple, yet sexy, in the fashion world of aviation.  8)

Mighty cool skins
Thank you!
