Lada Samara V2.0
« on: February 14, 2019, 03:38:27 PM »

You guys asked for it and here it is:

Ghost129er's Lada Samara Mod - Version 2.0
A totally upgraded and improved Low Poly Samara Mod featuring many colors and other cool shit!

[V2 Intro]
Here it is folks, the long awaited and delayed (apologies for that) Lada Samara Version 2 mod. It's taken a while but this update really adds a metric fuckton of code and changes. The mod now comes with a whopping 32 class files, an enormous 85 files in the 3do folder, and so many lines of code/entries that I wanted to fucking shoot myself in the face.

The Version 2 upgrade also ships with a Template file, for all those guys who want to make your own Ladas and such, or replace or 'improve' the already made skins. This template file was worked on by our master template maker and skinner, max_thehitman who's made all kinds of great stuff for us before and still on it! A huge shout out to Max for this template which will most definitely be appreciated by the many out there. Thanks Max!

[Mod background]
The Lada Samara mod was actually just a prototype mod/personal project for me to initially learn how to do low-poly modelling/ 3d modelling of cars, since the only thing I was good at modelling was aircrafts having done only them for about...11  years or so, so it's not supposed to be a professional project, rather a release of my learning experience/private mod for others to perhaps use as reference for their own vehicle mod if seeking such a thing.

The readme folder comes with a few files- a complicated/detailed and explanative installation guide (which Notepad++ users can use to collapse/hide sections, making it even easier to navigate through it) and a simple readme which knowledged modders who know how to add vehicles and quickly copy/paste the code additions to the specified files (click the image to enlarge it). Then there are 4 files which are named as the .ini file you will be modifying (chief_entries for the chief.ini, etc) for those who really want it absolutely simple and that are well. Uh. Special.

Enjoy, feel free to leave feedback (preferably not lol). Please don't bomb my Inbox with question on how2makemodzplz... I will make a tutorial sometime later in the future (as I plan to make a whole bunch of video tutorials).

Version 2.0
- Added Stationary Ladas; now you can select stationary Ladas to place into your map! They even have their own category now! (If you add the entries as per readme/entry files)
- Added a bunch of color variants (wide selection going across the spectrum! It ain't true sRGB length of billion colors but hey.
- An amazing and if not, perfect template by our master, max_thehitman. Thank you SO much Max for this, couldn't have released and made my mod look even better without your help!

[Credits]

Western - Guidance as to how to create vehicle files; in the sense of Java code and all the stuff. I even used this Modern Vehicles pack to find what entries were needed for the static/stationary/technics/etc with this, so thank you for the mod as well as the help Western! Very appreciated! He even helped many times with troubleshooting Java errors so thanks for that!

max_thehitman - Max kindly and ever so considerately created a template for this Lada mod. Honestly, this mod is not of ace modding quality, or even skill as compared to many other members on SAS as well as Avia skins/etc but nevertheless, he still accepted my request for help and for making a template which COMPLETELY changed the look of the Lada and actually makes this Low poly mod look like a proper Lada Samara. Thank you so much for your help Max, and for your constant motivation and kind words and support!

And anyone else that I have forgotten to mention that I owe to.

@ max_thehitman - Thank's for the kind words~ In my dreams, I was thinking to myself (power of Lucid dreaming) and decided that I will now try to add more detail and make a version 1.1 since I am a 'little' more confident. 8) Stay tuned.

@ SAS~Storebror - Haha~ It's not the best, but the videos you've provided here show me that my model actually somehow represents an actual Lada Samara. 8) From just the thumbnails alone, I have more confidence with deciding to do an interior for the model and perhaps making it better than before (additional detail inside/etc).

Hello Ricky,

How about the VW_1600 TL?

Year of construction 1966, 54 HP, double carburettor.

My first car (the color is right).

Best regards, Gerhard  :)

OMG, the 1600...
I'm always wondering how Volkswagen managed to find enough idiots to make that car a success.
But then again: It wasn't.
It's just been a bad excuse of a car, built for jackasses, sorry to say :P

Hi Ricky,

VW 1600 TL was the fastback

VW 1600 L  was the limousine (2 doors only)

VW 1600 Variant was the van

 ;)

Mike, you're too young. Near all german cars at this time are streetshockers or pothole searchers!

Btw, it was 1977 and I paid only DM 300 (deutschmark) for this cart.

Don't forget the "LE" - with electronically controlled fuel injection! - if it works that is.
Probably the worst german car since... no "since", it is the worst.
As if there was a need to proof why we lost the war.
