The fact there was no airfield object at Pongani ( there is one now) isn't the reason why you fail to save mission. Check the missing objects in your Game (which version?) and please report them .

For Green Hell map i installed Geezer objects and added entrys to the static.ini but it hadn't hellped. So that exectly objects i missing i dont know (maybe there is way how to check it)

Thanks for reply :)

If you can't save missions it is usually a missing object problem. Have you tried the static.ini checking tool.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,762.msg8285.html#msg8285

Also read this thread if the static.ini checking tool finds no problems
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,44350.msg497558.html#msg497558

As the second thread says, the checking tool only compares the content of the static.ini file with that of the actors.static list in the map folder, so it is possible to have objects listed in your static.ini, but not have those objects in your 3do game files (or the objects may have the wrong path reference). In this case the logfile can sometimes give you a clue as to which objects are missing.

Try saving a mission once then exit the game immediately; open your logfile and look at the bottom (twenty? or so) lines and the missing object or objects may appear as a failed to load error.

Waiduooklis,
Look at post #219 on page 19. There I provide a link to a file that allows you to create 'fake', invisible versions of your missing objects. The file template can be easily expanded upon for as many objects as you are missing. A detailed readme is included.

At least with this expedient solution you can fly on the map. Chances are these objects are not used to terribly large number, and hence should not be badly missed.

If you're curious to see how many and where these missing things are, you can elect to use a simple, colorful spiked triangle object that will make it obvious just what you're missing. You could use this object for just one, or a few, or all your missing entries, depending on whether you want to locate specific missing objects or the whole lot.

For actual flying, make these objects all invisible.

You can use this technique for any and all maps, so you might want to keep it in your toolkit for those future, problematic maps. ;)

As you eventually locate formerly missing objects, delete their 'fake', stand-in entries and enter the correct info into static.ini.

I'd just like to give a pat on the back for the work on all the rivers - and NG has a lot of them!
I know how hard it is and time consuming to get rivers done well, especially in rough mountainous terrain, because the elevations of the rivers change as they flow from the mountains to the sea.  So, great job on that!

It'll soon be 3 months since the last update.

In the meantime I've been tweaking away:

- Added a number of new rivers, and extended a few already present. I'm striving to keep them as narrow as possible.

- Replaced the major river terminating immediately south of Lae with a multi-channeled one more like the real thing. I have yet to try underlying it with a texture at at least somewhat resembling bare gravel. It'll be hard to get an appearance like reality because of the way very different textures that are adjacent stand out with their lozenge shapes. I'll probably have to choose something less realistic, with more green or yellow than I'd like, so that the geometrical discontinuities are not so obvious.

- For the textures that are all or mostly all forest cover, I've replaced them with the layered forest scheme. I found the relatively small number of small-ish, isolated layered forest bits to be a strange thing where vast tracts of heavy timber are present. My philosophy: Either leave them out entirely, or make heavier use of them as appropriate.

I want to also add the coral reefs that are so prevalent on Google Earth. (I've done just this for agracier's New Georgia map, which makes a huge difference.)

I made up a texture to underly rivers having well exposed gravel/sand beds, like the Markham river (which terminates immediately south of Lae). Several other rivers can use this as well. It looks passably suggestive, even though I had to incorporate some patchy, irregular greenery so the the texture blends better with the surrounding vegetation textures; otherwise the straight-sided lozenge shape is far too obvious and unnatural.

This texture can occupy a freshly available slot in load.ini because I've freed up a few by reassigning the former ones suggesting all or principally forest to the layered forest texture.

Hi WxTech,  and everybody..!

Green Hell was never an abandoned project, and although we truly appreciate your interest in our map, we always intended to complete it ourselves ; )

We just couldn't be working full steam on it, you know how life quickly draws one away from non-essential matters.

When we have released the definitive version, you'll be more than welcome to start another thread to modify or improve our map as much as you like (we know only too much your magic) just hold on a little longer, we've done our homework and Green Hell will be available for download next week !!  :D ]cheers[

Happy new year everybody!
After a very long time we are pleased to announce the release of our map Green Hell 1943. This map has been extended to include New Ireland and Admiralty islands (Manus) on 1/1 scale.
Long researches have permitted to add many emergency airstrips and some new main airfields like Tsili Tsili, Kavieng, Madang, Gavuvu, Lorengau, Kiriwina and Dobodura complex...

Dobodura was the most complicated place to apprehend as those airfields were in constant progress after the battle of Buna. We decided to represent an arbitrary stage sometime up to summer 1943.

---Thus, we are also about to release very soon a 1942  "expurgated" version of the map deleting Dobodura, Ward, Kiriwina and other airfields not constructed at the beginning of New Guinea campaign.---

New textures have appeared and load.ini has been changed. So if you already use our previous map, please delete everything (map + texture files + all.ini entry) before installing.

Please report any problem in saving missions due to missing objects as this might be the main issue using this map on BAT.
Once this fixed we will no more regard this map as a WIP one !

That means every one can at present create missions and campaigns as the general arrangement of the map will not change anymore. Even if we decide in future to update actors.static or map_T to improve it a little we will not change anything.

We wish you to enjoy flying on Green Hell !
