Follow the instructions.  When he says "extract to your game folder", what he means is that it should wind up in your #WAW3 folder.  In my case, it looks like:
c:\il-2 BAT 1946\#WAW3\!MAPMODS_Green_Hell

extract to your 'game folder' is incorrect

it should say 'mods folder'

What worked for me was to install them in the "3do" folder.  Again, in my system, the file path is:
c:\il-2 1946 BAT\#WAW3\!MAPMODS_Green_Hell\3do\buildings
If you refer to post #246, you'll see that the "static.ini" references these 3 sub-folders.  You have to add his code manually.  Again, in my system, this is located at:
c:\il-2 1946 BAT\#WAW3\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects
It was really frustrating, but in the end very satisfying, to finally get this map to work.  Thank you to the builders and to vpmedia for doing all the heavy lifting!

Thanks to Bumpyflkies and vpmedia, I redid the install following your instructions and now I can save the mission.
Just a wish: I woiuld be fine to have a single archive file to extract combining files from post#265 and #246

A note for users of this map.

I made up an improved palm tree mod, available in the Visual Mods section. It fleshes out the palm fronds with just an additional 8 polygons per tree. It looks fantastic on this map, if I might be not so humble to brag. ;)

Hello every body,
After a very long period of absence I am happy to see the improvements you have made to our map.
Kevin and I have not been able to consult with each other so much in the past few months. For my part, I didn't have any possibility of upload (internet failure and lockout in France)... However, I was able to develop new features and aerodromes on Green Hell.

First, I admire the work done by vpmedia on the tone of the textures and especially the great idea to spread pop-up trees on the textures of jungles! The effect at low altitude is striking ... His layout of the pack is also very clever.
I don't forget the improvements made by WxTech, his second version of fps friendly coconut palms are  for all pacific (and MTO) maps a major enhancement.
With them I consider no need to suppress palm trees around any airfield.

So I continued to work on original static.ini and added some new 1943 features:

Alexishafen airfield Danip and Number 2 airfield
Alexishafen village and its incredible Cathedral
The "German" road from Madang to Alexishafen

Nadzab airfield which already existed before 1943 airborne operation (just a small non-operational airstrip at this time) and Narakapor pre-war

Three "forgotten" operational airfields in New Britain:
Gavuvu (Cap Hoskins)
Tobera
Keravat

Two others non ops:

Drina airstrip west of jacquinot bay, reported as abandoned or Japanese emergency strip according to different sources...

Rakada airfield, located on Duke of York island (east of Rabaul) in construction by 1943

Two operational airdromes in New Ireland:
Namatanai and Borbops airfields

And finally, Narewa airfield in Woodlark island.

A lot of work could still be done to improve some places but I do not have skill for that, I hope Kevin will have time again to complete the static and improve airfields I made on my own. Anyway we should meet next week and decide to say this map is no more a WIP. As we do not have enough authorization we hope someone  will be kind enough to move it to PTO maps when ready...

Screenshots will follow...

Thanks mate, I'm glad you like some of my changes. In the beginning I tried the fps friendly palm trees mod, but it did not help. I mean no improvement at all. Later I added back aprox. 50% of the removed palm trees but I did not upload that version because it had some other changes and also did not want to make it confusing with that many versions.  Anyway, I really like this map and thanks for it again!

G'day Everyone

I have been in contact with MOUSQUITO the last couple of days, one of the things I discussed with him was a few issues with Gurney airfield.
If anyone else has discovered any abnormalities with other airfields or problems with the map can you bring it to their attention so they can look into them while it is still a work in progress.
Once the map is moved to PTO maps I'm sure the boys would want to move on with their lives.

P.S.  As everyone has mentioned this is an awesome map! Thank you, Tokyo Rose and MOUSQUITO.
