Hi there,

I have the BAT 4.2....
There is a 3d0 file included with the GREEN HELL_1944 Map. Where am I suppose to put it ? In #WAW3 or in #WAW3/MAPMODs or in #WAW3/MAPMODs/Maps....Or somewhere else....?

Thx for this "musthave" map by the way !!!

Hi Guys

I think I've come up with a fix for the airfield display problems during early morning.
Can I have a couple of testers to take a look and provide feedback.
Please note there's still an excessive amount of fog, but you can see with the two screenshots (7 o'clock shown) there is some improvement.

Place the Runway_Turnbull folder in #WAW3\STD\3do\airfield\plateS

Tested but not have noticed any difference....I have used Salamaua at 7:00 am....

Can you post the mission you used for these screenshoots?

Or at least specify the airfield you've used?

G'day mate

You have to view Turnbull airstrip which is found at Milne Bay.
Set morning time for around 7 o'clock and hit enter to zoom in on runway, just like my screenshots.

More airfields will follow providing there is positive feedback.

Yes....is a simplething I don't think about...the correct airfiled!

I'll try immediately!

BTW

I was also installing green Hell extended and I noticed a bug in the static objects add to file:

This object (the last of the list) miss the initial [ before the name:

buildings.House$WoodenWall1]
Title           WoodenWall1
MeshLive        3do/Buildings/GH/WoodenWall1/live.sim
MeshDead        3do/Buildings/GH/WoodenWall1/dead.sim
AlignToLand     0
Body            WoodSmall
Panzer          9.0

Hi!

Tested on the right airfield and I can confirm that your new textures give better visuals against early morning minst....great work!

BTW early fog is one of the few things that I don't like because I feel it too thick....but now seem more soft....

There are two entries in the conf.ini (not frequently used) that you can modify to reduce the fog intensity close to the ground. I tend to use the two below, but you can try to experiment and see what suits you better:
FogLow=2
FogHaze=5

Naturally these settings will modify fog intensity across all maps

Hi Frankiek , I have tested your suggestion in my conf.ini but I haven't see any differences between values....

After a search I discover that those values can't be set on conf.ini but only by a mod called 'change conf real time' developed years ago by Carmaster....

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18906.0.html

......have you this mod enabled and each time you edit conf.ini in real time?

Tested the mod and now got FogHaze parameter working...(FogLow give me no difference) but while value 0 give a thick fog value 4 give me no difference compared to my previous start game ambient visual....seem that I anyway have a FogHaze of 4 by default....maybe something was tweaked this (for me good) way in BAT422HF4....

those values are coming from IL-2 old days well before carmaster mod  (any mod in fact) and are among conf.ini hidden parameters. I am not sure  if they still work as I didn't touch them in years only today after I saw this topic they came back to my mind

As reported in point 9 of the original tread the fog values can be changed only dynamically and not by editing the conf.ini....

At times adjustment Config.ini in game under concrete iron and needs  strongly gets, it is necessary to change options in Config.ini to restart game, to look result. And so yet you will not receive comprehensible result under the schedule or on a sound.
Therefore I bring to your attention console fashions allowing to change options in already started both working game and viewing, listening AT ONCE results of changes.

Mod works in any version of game.

Installation:
1. A folder with mod to put in folder MODS.
2. In file RC to add a line

@load com.maddox.rts.cmd.CmdCfg NAME cfg \
HELP cfg FULL

Work:
1. In game we cause console Shift+Tab
2. We enter into the console STRICTLY observing the register cfg and we press ENTER
3. We receive in the console the list accessible parameter for kind editing

  ForceShaders1x
  HardwareShaders
  FogLow
  FogHaze
  Forest
  Effects
  Water
  Sky
  LandGeom
  LandDetails
  LandShading
  TexLandLarge
  TexLandQual
  VisibilityDistance
  DrawCollisions
  MeshDetail
  DynamicalLights
  DiffuseLight
  SpecularLight
  Specular
  TexFlags
  TexMipFilter
  TexCompress
  TexLarge
  TexQual
  ShadowsFlags
  Shadows
  MicLevel
  ActLevel
  NumChannels
  SamplingRate
  Speakers
  SoundMode
  SoundEngine
  MusFlags
  MusState
  VoiceVolume
  ObjectVolume
  MusicVolume
  MasterVolume
  RadioFlags
  SoundFlags

4. We choose parameter which we will change. Have for example chosen parameter Water
5. We enter into the console cfg Water 2 and we press ENTER, game having thought second will reboot a picture with options Water 2.
6. We leave the console and we look changes.
7. In the similar way the others are entered and change  parameters. The main thing that input digits corresponded to admissible values for the chosen parameter.  for example for Water it is possible to specify from 1 to 4!!!
8. At a pass in Conf.ini to remain LAST values entered by you!!!!!!!
9. There are two  which aren't accessible in a text variant Conf.ini it

FogLow - fog heights, can be 1 or 2

FogHaze - intensity of a fog, can be from 0 to 4. And 0 it is the MOST DENSE fog

9. The sound as copes introduction and appointment of the necessary parameters.

In detail work given a mod wasn't tested!!! As it was used ONLY for the needs. Study.

I added a second LOD (model and texture) last night.
Although there is an improvement from a distance shown in screenshots, sitting on the runway it is still rather pathetic with the runway and taxiways primarily white.

I'm discontinuing this version as the result is not good enough for my liking.
On to version 2 tonight, I have one more idea to try.
