I too have the F4F spawning problem in BAT 3.7.1. with the Ranger. Everything is fine with the stock F4f until I install the modded version from another certain site. The flight deck is left with 2 surviving Wildcats out of around 8. This is followed by the wheel chocks floating off along the deck sternwards and slowly disappearing in the distance...can anybody help please?

I think it's kind of the same thing I had or something similar (F4F-4 and FM-2).
Strangely enough, I had this problem while other rebels didn't!
In my case, I found the source of the problem. The leader of the group, placed the farthest left on the bridge, exploded! Dragging x other planes into this explosion.
I modified the generic Class of the game (com.maddox.il2.ai.AirportCarrier.class) to change the spacing between planes.
With the value 6 instead of 5 everything works!
But then I preferred to delete this mod and go back to the stock versions that I had already heavily modified.

I have the superb USS Ranger installed and working fine in my VP_mod Pack 5.30, 4.12.2m. I made a few test missions in the FMB.
I was wondering though, I made all the ini. enteries as stated in the Read me.txt with the exception of: (technics.properties USSRangerCV4_41 USS Ranger CV4). There did not seem to be an similar type entry of the same type in my STD/com/Maddox/il2/objects/technics.ini.  So, I did not add this entry. Ship still sails just fine. Should the entry have been required elsewhere? Just wondering, NOT complaining. Thanks.

You confuse the two files technics.properties and technics.ini !
technics.properties or technics_ru.properties or technics_fr.properties or ...

technics.properties  ==> \i18n\
This file is only used to have a custom object name!
It's the equivalent of Planes_xx.properties !
They are both placed in the same folder!

FYI for those that use 4.14.1m the USS Ranger mod works.  Created a simple mission as a test and it worked flawlessly.

Hi Epervier and thank you for your reply. Java is completely beyond my knowledge I must confess! Other than a reinstall it looks like I'm stumped. The  restore will at least allow the safe use of the current BAT default F4F-4.  :)

The project is closed, I ask the moderators to transfer the topic to the "ships" section.
