did the japs ever make their own guided bomb? or are we to assume they would have copied or  reverse engineered a Fritz X or Razon bomb?  and another devious speculation this thing would have made one hell of an Oaka carrier could have put two in the bomb bay and two under each wing

KT may not be far off with the torpedoes, though i do agree with you mike it would be suicide to torpedo run with a plane that size
i did find this interesting diagram of it and those sure look like torpedoes under the plane

I heard that Flanker, only a Glider Torpedo can Hit a Target without taking AA Fire.

Anyway, that Speed of a Project Z is 422 Mph (679 kph; 367 kts).

And the Fugaku speed is 485 Mph (780 kph 421 kts)

Mike, that Bomber needs two of them, the Project Z (G10N) and Fugaku (same G10N).

You are right, we could use a second version of the plane in the leightweight config with 18cyl. engines, but that's out of reach as of now.
Concerning the speed estimations, I take the liberty to put these back to still excessively high, but at least remotely believable and somewhat reasonable speeds.
780 kph... only in japanese dreams. The P-51H could go 780kph. Look at the two and you will notice that in order to get something of the Fugaku's design to speeds like that, you'd need to disarm and equip it with warp cores.

680 kph @12km altitude, that's what you'll get. That's still a lot more than one would expect from such a plane and it puts her into the same league like a Do 335 "Pfeil" (not judging "maximum" speeds claimed to have been reached in testing stage, but what the plane reached for real when it came to the front line).

Plenty "what if" weapons to load on "what if" mega bomber  ;D
Interesting read.
The Ke-Go seeker head pretty much resembles what later would be found on the Sidewinder missile. Didn't the U.S. sell that as "their" invention? Well...
The I-Go Type 1B very much looks like the Bat bomb.

This is what we could put on the Fugaku:
  • A shrinked version of the I-Go Type 1A, we could call it "I-Go Type 3A"
  • A shrinked version of the I-Go Type 1B, we could call it "I-Go Type 3B"
  • A shrinked version of the Henschel Hs-293, we could call it "I-Go Type 4"
  • A simple 1-on-1 copy of the Fritz-X, rebranded as "I-Go Type 5"

Shrinking the first three is necessary as otherwise they won't fit into the Fugaku's bomb bay.
Carrying external stores makes no sense for a bomber which only defense is speed and altitude.

The  I-Go Type 1A and IB are already in the game - on the Ki48:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,44909.msg508987.html#msg508987
(don't know why the I-go A dropped from the last upgrade of this plane)

The Ke-Go Heat Seeking missile-bomb can also be added to this plane (they were initially conceived to be hung under the wings of the Ki-67) - 95 of these bombs were in fact produced but apparently not used operationnaly.
Dimensions varied according to the sub-models:
107 Length 15.5ft Diameter 1.65ft Wing Span 6.58ft Total Weight 1,600lbs Terminal velocity 335mph  (30 produced)
109 Length 18ft Diameter 1.65ft Wing Span 9.4ft Total Weight 1,760lbs Terminal velocity 360mph (designed only - the last of the development line)
(the 109 had a changed exhaust configuration)

While designed to be airborne missile, the Funryu missiles concept seem to have been re-shaped as Ground to Air/Ground to Ship missile
Here's a link for some details of the Funryu missiles - quite advanced by the end of ww2 (the Funryu 2 underwent testing in April 1945)

The Ke-Go Heat Seeking missile-bomb can also be added to this plane
...if any 3D guy would create it.
The I-Go Type 1A/1B are indeed both available, we have them in Ultrapack - that's why the idea to derive scaled down versions if them for the Fugaku's bomb bay.

Alright, I-Go Type 3A and 3B (scaled down I-Go Type 1A and 1B) are in, each 16x, 8x + extended range, 4x + long range.

The warhead containing 8,821 pounds of explosives and the guide is through radio control, a quote from the link you just posted mike, im hoping it’s a typeo because a guided missile with that much explosive would be seriously nasty, even the big Russian SS-N-22 “Sunburn” anti ship missiles only have a warhead of 660 pounds or so and they were built to kill super carriers

No it's not. Funryu 1 is a miniature airplane and indeed it's filled with 8821b of explosives.

holy cow thats insanity the fritz X only had  600, that broke a battleship in half,  8800 pounds of explosive would obliterate a ship
