I'm about to check the feasibility of torpedoes.
Putting standard Type 91 on the Fugaku is somewhat meeeh...
We could instead attach Type 4 - that's basically the Type 91 with a tad more speed, more explosives, and wider drop parameter range.
Then we could use Type M, a 2tons beast running 2.5km at 50 knots.
Then we could phantasize and create an aerial version of Type 93, a 9 meter long, 2.7tons heavy beast running 20km at 50 knots. This would be a weapon where the Fugaku would stand a chance to survive if ships have no fighter cover.
Furthermore we can derive 3 versions off the american Mark 34, let's call it "Type MX".
On is just a straight running Mark 34 clone, another one has a passive acoustic homing head and the last one would additionally have chutes to drop them from altitude.

How about that?
And how about leaving the standard Type 91 out?

We still have the argument of if you could get close enough to launch it and the longer you are away from the target the much harder it would be to hit a zigzagging ship, the only way I would think you could do it was if you dropped like 20 in a spread angle then the law of averages is on your side but the bigger nastier AA guns like the 5/38s and the 3inch guns would be able to hit you at five km

Yep, but I decided not to make that my issue.
After all, no one's forcing anyone to pick torps :P
I didn't check how many of them I can cramp into the bays, but I think 8 in each should be no big deal, so you'd get 16 max. depending on the torp weight - on the smaller ones, maybe more.

I'd recommend a Spearfish Torp in that case.
Genuine masterpiece.

Or may be its smaller brother Type 95. Shorter, lighter but still with impressive range up to 12,000m.

Type 95 Mod 1 is around 9.000m (9.800 yd) or 12.000m (13.000 yd) but a warhead looks Smaller around 405kg (893 lb).

The Mod 2 is Larger 550kg (1.210 lb).

Left - KeGo 109 Open (under 2000m Altitude, Heat seeking auto-guiding activated)
Right - KeGo 109 (on pylons, and after drop between 10,000 and 2,000m Altitude)

You'll need to write the java for it. as code for heat seeking guidance is something I am not really comfortable with....

Let's put that back for future updates, otherwise this bird will never get finished.
In the meantime, if you could it would be nice if this thing could be brought within reasonable limits (currently it has almost 4000 faces) and if it could get a suitable texture applied.

Turns out the Type 93 torp is too big to fit into the Fugaku bomb bay.
Who would have thought that...
