Installing 4.14 and BAT
« on: April 26, 2019, 06:40:49 AM »

Good afternoon

could it be possible to install the patch 4.14 (and previous ones) when IL-2 selector is in "standard game 4.12.2" without corrupting the whole BAT installation?

I mean: install the patches and after that be able to apply BAT modules using the selector.

Or I need to have a double installation?

Thanks in advance

The only valid advice is: Don't install 4.14 at all. Essentially even TD tells you so.
The second best guess is: Don't mix 4.14 with anything. It's malware. It will destroy BAT like any other modded game. Intentionally I'm afraid to say.

Just use BAT as-is and be happy with it.
BAT is 5.00, no need for 4-point-anything anymore.
On that note, there is no such thing like "standard game 4.12.2" in BAT. The Selector Setting would be "Stock Game".

Thank you for your clear reply.

Messege received.

The only reason is that for casual online flight BAT is difficult to use. Usually I find 4.13.x servers and I thought that they could migrate to 4.14.
My hard disk is quite full and I preferred to have a single installation.

Sorry for mistake in remebering selector's choice but I'm very far from my computer and didn't remember the exact choice.
Anyway: "stock game" = 4.12.2 right?

Version 4.12.2 is the version BAT runs under. Past that is incompatible.

And yes Stock Game is the unmodded version

No. Stock Game can be any untouched old 4-point-whatever version.

No.
BAT has it´s own game engine version 5.0, it´s well advanced beyond the old 4-point-something stuff.
Prior to that is incompatible.

BAT requires the 4.12.2m version of the stock game. It is incompatible with any other game versions.

If you want to have a 4.14 version then duplicate your 4.12 game before BAT install and patch it.

Thanks, got it.

That is exactly what I hoped not to do.
