HSFX and using the jeep and kubelwagen
« on: May 04, 2019, 09:37:04 AM »

After all this time I just noticed the driveable jeep and kubelwagen in HSFX, LOL.  I tried the jeep but cannot get it to move.

I placed it similar to an aircraft with the first waypoint being 'takeoff' and all waypoints at zero height.  Fuel is 100%.
The jeep appears properly and I am in the driver's seat.  I can look around but despite throttle being at 100% the jeep doesn't move.
That being said, once it does move can you transfer to an aircraft or is it eye-candy only?

I tried a search but only got an old thread on the installation of this mod.

Any tips are appreciated.  Thanks.

Chocks..? These work in UP3 but I know HSFX is something completely different but it may be worth a shot 8)

Well, a big DUH for me as I just realised it would probably help if I switched on the engine!!!  D'OH!!!!
It just hit me that perhaps I have to start engines like I would with an aircraft and bingo! good to go.

The question remains though whether one can jump out of the jeep and into an aircraft.  I'm guessing 'no' but had to ask as I know other mods have that feature (e.g. UP3).

That being said, what is the latest version of UP3?  Perhaps we should look at moving to that for online play as it seems to have more features?

regards,

I won't lie that was a funny one. :))

Dunno where or how you saw that, but that's a no go in UP3 my man tomoose...

Latest version is UP3 RC4, with Patch pack 303 which is what the F.A.C. use to fly with on every Sunday on the SAS dogfight server. 8) It's already online play, online compatible and got a ton of bug fixes and improvements such as the old 4.12 advanced AI (old as in that's an ancient install now) and well, yeah, with lots of high quality addons by the Java modders and contributors, even flight model fixes for the broken Yak's/Buffalos.

What would be the major advantage in switching from HSFX to UP3? (i.e. what are the major differences?).
