Got it solved by updating the selector to last version....my il2fb.exe now is version 5.2.1.0....

Can I add UP pointing the installer directly to my BAT main folder without be afraid of possible interference with it or is better to keep it in a different installation?

I know that is stated in the posts that I can do it...but I'm too donkey to proceed without asking directly.....

Don't mix UP and BAT keep them separate as they are not compatible. You will have a Franken install. The best is to point it to a fresh 4.10 or 4.12 install

Like Frankiek says, the best practice is to keep IL-2 game versions separated.
While they technically can live together in one single folder, there are some dependencies which aren't all that obvious.
For instance, installing BAT 4.2.2 HF4 and then Ultrapack 3.4 P2 HF13 will work, but you will face issues if you do it vice versa.
Installing any further patches of either of these on top will arbitrarily wipe contents from the shared JSGME folder and will disable JSGME mods from both games.
Future versions always see either BAT or UP3 slightly ahead of each other in certain technological aspects (most notably the Selector) which might yield further issues.

If you wish to save some precious HDD space, go the Symbolic Links route.
Apart from Skin folders, you can as well share records, screenshots and common (same size) SFS files.

Dumb question likely but searching is not getting me anywhere.. I have Steam 1946 4.12.2 installed, is it really necessary to revert it back to the 4.10.1 (Page 1 of this thread) required for Ultrapak? It seems to have installed fine, along with the Patch 2 and Hotfix..

If you use the 3.4 "Cassie" superpack (and following updates) you can install on top of 4.12.2

Likely answered before but I couldn't find it, so apologies if its somewhere obvious. Right now 1946 is on Sale on Steam and GoG for €2,49. A friend is buying it on GoG and I believe the version is 4.13. On Steam I simply changed to the 4.12 in beta, for a standalone GoG version do you install the "4.12 megaPatch" found here (https://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=4469) or is there a preferred method to downgrade (assuming UP 3.4 needs 4.12?). Thanks for any guidance!

The Installation Options are described right in the opening post of this thread: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,61481.0.html
You are in the "Any other IL-2 game Version" column.
I'd recommend installing the Superpack.

Thank you Mike. I did see the options but what is not clear (to me) for the 4.13 GoG version of 1946, can you just install the 3.4 Cassie Superpak\Patch 2\Hotfix 19 right over this 4.13 version or do you need to (as I did with Steam, going to 4.12.2 beta) downgrade to 4.12.2? Or maybe I did not even have to go to the Steam beta for Cassie? I have no issues with my Steam version, just want to help a friend buying on GoG..

You can install the Superpack right on top of any working IL-2 version.

Thank you Mike, last question, Does Cassie 3.4 Superpak change the 1946 version to 4.12? I ask because we may try and connect online and I assume we need the same 1946 version to do so?

The network-reported version (net stream compatibility) is 4.10.1.
The game version itself is very different, we've got elements from all existing game versions in Ultrapack and much more, which is why we call the base game version 4.60 here.

Just noticed that going in.. so for network play all versions of the base game should be 4.10.x or does Cassie make the whole version thing a non-issue?
