Videocards for Il2:summary expirience
« on: May 28, 2019, 06:20:37 AM »

Hi all IL21946 fans & modders!
Have got an idea to show somewere here (MAYBE RIGHT IN THIS THEME?) information from all of us about personal expirience IL2 using in Perfect mode with every hardwere/softwere configuration in 2019 year.
If smbdy using newest GTX1000/1600/2000 series/AMD RX with API OpenGL - much preferable. Meaning all actual MODS IN.

Lowest FPS/Highest FPS with:

- more 50-100 crafts in action

- more 100-200 mobile armor chiefs in action

- loading of additional mobile objects in mission: HDD/SSD/RAID

- explosions of great number of bombs in missions with large formations of bombers: no freez cards only.

Good idea, and for those like myself that wont buy a top of the bill card a simple rule of thumb were to look for in a video card. A rule like CPU with fastest single core.

In order to make any of this comparable, we need a test mission, we need to agree on specific settings (AA mode, transp. AA mode, Triple Buffering yes/no, VSync etc.).
Further more we'd need a little more specific measurement - FPS min and max don't tell a thing, for any of the given checks you've listed you can tag my rig at Min 0 FPS (because that's what it starts with from the menu for everyone) and Max 144.

Then we'd need a specification how to publish the results in order to get something really comparable.
Over at BoS the VR guys once tried that, with all the specs applied as I said, yet the result is rather confusing than helpful.
But still, if you want to bring this forward, carry on...
