In uncharted territory here. Hope this is the proper place for this enquiry. I'm making a completely new version of a Pearl Harbor "First Wave" attack single-mission set I published on M4T for the stock version of
Il-2 a few years ago. I've been looking forward to producing a more accurate version of this in BAT, but I've discovered a puzzling situation regarding the Grumman J2F Duck. The information I've gathered thus far tells me that when the attack took place there were two Ducks at Ewa and at least nineteen (19) at the Ford Island NAS. BAT includes three different configurations of stationary Ducks. One of these, "J2F_sea," depicts a Duck afloat, with an animated, spinning propeller. Cute, but unusable for my purpose. A second version, "J2F_ground," a Duck with its undercarriage extended, would have done very well - but the skin, which apparently can't be changed, is obviously anachronistic and, worse, for some reason the "ground" version, like the "sea" version, has an animated, spinning propeller. It's all too easy to imagine at least a dozen of these all spotted around the same airfield, all with their engines running.
The third version, "J2F_MOV," has a stationary propeller, but it also has a tow tractor permanently affixed to the tail. I could get away with putting one or two of these at Ewa, and perhaps, at most, four distributed around Ford Island NAS, but no more. In addition, again, the skin would have to be altered.
So. Would it be possible for someone to produce a stationary version of "J2F_MOV" with a static propeller, no tractor, and a means of changing the skin to an early- pre-war, "red dot" version? Alternatively, a version of "J2F_ground" with a static propeller and, again, a changeable skin would work.
As always, any advice would be very welcome. My apologies if I've started this thread in the wrong category.
