Hello guys, new link is now in the first post, enjoy. ;)

Now includes Summer, desert and winter folders for the moving vehicle, each colour should appear on the respective maps providing the correct season is included on the maps you use in the load.ini:

[WORLDPOS]
CAMOUFLAGE = SUMMER  or DESERT or WINTER.

There are now static objects for each season, these will show on any map irrespective of season in the load.ini, there are no dead models yet for the statics only a stand in for for the moving vehicles but it has no dedicated texture.

All tga files have been brought to the same standard, where panel lines were appropriate they have been added as well as basic weathering for all textures.

Templates for the tga files included have been included in the download.

Please completely remove existing folder as there have been too many changes to note, some
parts are renamed and some removed to be replaced by new versions, there is now also the java for
a moving vehicle.

It is also necessary to check your existing text entries and update them/replace completely.

This is quite a sizable download due to each vehicle and each of the static folders now having three
folders each and additions to the templates and parts.  ;)

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Hello again guys, been a while since I did anything with this but I am back on it. ;)

I had already done some detailing on the drivers side of the engine block before I started to fine
tune the parts and schemes for the last update, I have now started to add further nuts and bolts
and do the mapping:

Hopefully now I am back on this I will carry on without further distraction. :D

Take care and be safe.

Hello guys, just a few images of this on going project. ;)

The area I am trying to replaicate in the photograph:

The individual meshes combined into one single mesh and already mapped, full view:

The mapping extracted from gmax with LithUnwrap and all the Black area erased before integrating into
the existing map of all the parts on this particular template:

Colours added and mesh opened in gmax to check all was there:

It was not, I had missed some areas, dozy old git I am. :P

And into the model in game for a look:

Now for the other side, wish me luck I think I will need it. :D

Take care and be safe.

Hello again guys, well I actually started the other side but began with some simple detail on top. ;)

I had neglected the filler caps and attachment bolts from the top tanks so made a start there, the bolts
should be in a sunken recess but I was not sure how best to create that so just improvised, the pink
mesh:

The parts mapped:

And coloured, note the cap can be removed and there is a blanking piece underneath it:

To replicate the casting details on the other side I thought I could do some modifications to clones of those
made for the drivers side:

Things were not quite as straight forward as I imagined but I did manage to alter the existing parts and also
added some new build parts then moved the existing and remapped parts to another area of the template.
The pads where the bolts are were done slightly different from the other side, looking back I should have done
those the same but we are where we are:

Using the line tool I am now making a shape to represent the part of the casting that sits at the top of the
existing detail and any other bits and pieces I see in the photograph:

For weeks I have just kept looking at my references and trying to figure out just where to carry on as this
side of the engine is rather a clutter of all kinds of quite complex shapes and I did not know what to go for
first, anyway, now I have got that done I should manage, making the start is the most difficult bit. :D

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Hi Pete,
Nice engine work there fella!

Well you could send yourself mad trying to get perfection, and does IL-2 have a model poly limit?

On that side view I think it's quite modular ie, starter motor, external oil pump, fuel injector pump, as you say the most complex thing is getting the engine castings right to start with.

Cheers
