ecf111:
Great suggestion! I made a single mission some time ago with the Neptune in the Falklands War (private but i can share it if someone is interested) and i tested it togheter with some C&C features. I managed to have a reliable, working ship-searching radar and crew thanks to these features and the final result represented quite well the sensor capabilities of the Neptune. I still need to test them all to exploit the full potential.
In some of my missions, especially the dogfight missions in planes with 2-pilot crews, you will notice that i managed to use to full potential the Navigator/WO in the back seat. It will warn you of enemy contacts, your '6 and to start evasive manouvers. Try out "War Thunder" or "Victor Charlie" missions to better understand what i mean.

Your request is very welcome! I will finish writing the Walkthroughs and then start working on 1/2 missions for the Neptune.
Regarding the T-Cats: i know that they are incredibly well-made and full of new feautures aboard (that i wish they were also in other planes) but since, technically, it never existed in this version, i must do some testing before making this exception. For now i can assure you i will start testing both the F7F-AJ and the Neptune, and see what's best to obtain the sensor/recon capabilities you wish.
If the F7F-AJ is needed, i'll be happy to include it too in the official plane roster.  :)

Thank you very much for the skins too!!! Your works are always amazing.

dsawan:
Sorry i didn't understand the comment...You mean "Send missions, at least early ones?"
Please confirm.
If correct, i need to think about it. Mainly because i costantly modify them to obtain 3 goals: Fun/Scenario/Performance.
Sometimes i make small adjustments, sometimes i make a major overhaul.
If i make a provisory WIP download it would be obsolete in 2 days.

Hi, I meant Sead(suppression of enemy air defenses) since the last patch(3.7) added sams of some type, would it be possible to do them with the f-105 in early operations.

Whoops...my bad sorry
Of course I can make them ;) I already made a mission called "Danger Zone" where you suppress SAMs with Skyhawks. I'll do at least 1 with your specs.
Be sure to try out vampire's amazing campaign ThudRidge for more F-105 action 8)

thx. Reason I ask is because of the YGBSM incident where the early f-105's had to bomb sam sites and another group provided cover. Think it was before the shrike or ecm countermeasures for the thud.

dsawan:
Ok understood. Interesting idea.
I'll work on that and let you know of the progresses.

ecf111:
Could you please send me via PM more details about the Neptune ops? I mainly need the precise roles, sensors and coordination between the sensor-equipped Naptunes and of the intruders.
I might have found something similar in the C&C objects to simulate the sensors aboard but it's still under testing. Tomorrow i'll the the F7F-AJ.

I started to work on the mission requested by ecf111  8)
I managed to recreate, via testing and intense use of FMB, a semi-realistic method to represent the sensors of the leading Neptune.
Nothing too special but for now TOP SECRET  ;)

Hi Enry,

Sorry for the delay. New advanced sensors of the day that were originally tested on Neptunes included FLIR, low-light TV cameras, ground vehicle radars. The Neptunes were outfitted as gunships and some of the technology applied to later aircraft like the AC-130 and A-6 Intruder. The VO-67 squadron using OP-2E Neptunes would drop a sonobuoy like device into the jungle to listen for ground traffic. I'm not sure this could be replicated. The VAH-121 Squadron developed on this with more advanced sensors and electronics. I only suggest the F7F-AJ because it has side-looking radar, low-light TV cameras that would be on the Neptune. The Neptune is sorely lacking in the gunship armament so the F7F is there to help with weapons delivery. You really only have bombs with the AI neptune, if you add the files I posted it will utilize the flares or target markers.

I too have some Korean-era Neptune missions WIP, and the sensors can be simulated with C&C and the mini-radar. I just thought it would be fun to utilize some of the new stuff on the F7F-AJ since I'm not capable of adding it to the Neptune or additional weapons loadouts. I think it can be done since mace left a bunch of modder info in the F7F read me, but I'm not sure. It might be possible to add many features to other aircraft with some modder magic and mace's blessing.

All missions were in support of Trail Road Interdiction, as well as targets at sea.

I appreciate you looking into it, it's really just an armed recon request I guess. However you decide to make it I'm sure it will be fun! Mission particulars are hard to find due to the clandestine nature but I will keep looking.

Thanks again!

A couple of screenshots i took in the WIP missions for ecf111 and dsawan
Looking good so far! I started the mission for dsawan yesterday and it's at a good point.
For now the Neptune mission is standby but i might have a good idea to improve the gameplay 8)
