Request - Straight in Landing
« on: February 18, 2020, 04:13:20 PM »

Hi Guys

I'll keep this relatively short, is anyone capable of increasing the spacing between the aircraft for straight in landing.
It looks pretty awesome seeing half a dozen bombers touching down one after another but it gets a bit hairy once their on the ground.

I didn't know there was an option for 'straight-in' landing LOL.  The 'regular'? landing with AI has them landing one at a time while the remainder circle (which I believe, at least for heavy bombers, is realistic).

4.11m (or 4.11.1m)

Only with "Straight In" option, AIs don't Go-Around , programmed so.

Spacing each other is not easy task in program coding.
I'll try it in my Engine mod update project in low priority.

If the AI had a formation option for *widely* separated line astern? Then set that in the mission design, or issue a command in flight before the penultimate waypoint.

Yee, editing Formation.class looks easy way and a bit better result even not the best.
I'm testing missions how wider spaces calculated only on the last waypoint from the landing.

G'day western0221

Thanks for taking the time to look at my small request.
Looking at the screenshots it should mean aircraft can now land safely.
By no means is this a game changing addition but hopefully it gives mission/campaign builders another option other than the usual "runway is not clear, go around".
